Heh... Well, I'm all caught up in my PbP games here, myself... Uh, Geoffrey asked Gronan a great question (that was fun to read the answer too, also,) and, Oh, hey! Look... Some fellow who has a "Save vs All Wands" blog has a new post, I'll be right back!

For your entertainment oakesspalding, I'll post the first half of an essay I've been sitting on for a while. Maybe this will encourage me to finish the second half... or not?

Yeah, I guess sometimes I get busy and don't get back here as often as I'd like. Eight hours does seem like a long time, though....

Thanks waysoftheearth. Will read after Mass. I just saw you included Warriors and EPT in there. Great idea.

Ha! Indeed a beautiful day out here in MD, but I hear you Oakesspalding. I suspect there are plenty of existing threads that might require some creative redress/thread necromancy, or redirection where the same question had been previously addressed.

Well, my games are running. No burning questions right now, except for... Why are Blackmoor and Midkemia so much alike, raaaah?! How so? The narrative base is very similar - you have a proto-Arthurian swords & planets EDO setting with the same narrative pillars (extraterrestrial invasion, barbarian invasion, proto-Asians/Tekumel around the corner), and the same narrative conventions (immortal magical elitism, lingering conflict with the Elder/Elven kingdom, dark age steampunk, etc.) in use. - I wonder how close the exchange between Feist and Arneson really was, especially given that Midkemia of the 80s, and Midkemia from the late 90s until today are two fairly different animals. Might be just coincidence, might be my reader's bias, but when I read Midkemia books, I feel like I read Blackmoor novels.
