Yes, I know, I'm a sick and twisted individual. Still, no reason not to use these stories and put a Carcosa twist on them. Here's what I've come up with so far:
The Capulets and the Montagues: The Plumage of Many Colors, the chieftain of the Jale Man village in hex 0906, has lost his son in battle to the Ulfire Swashbuckler in hex 0907. He swears eternal revenge. The swashbuckler is in love with the chieftain's daughter, who is betrothed to the captain of the Jale troops. The swashbuckler enters the village disguised as a herald and pleads for peace, but he is rebuffed. He visits the daughter, who refuses to leave her village despite her love for the young fighting-man. The Jale Men discover the swashbuckler's true identity and are about to kill him when Ulfire fighting men arrive to rescue their leader.
After a pitched battle, the swashbuckler retreats to his castle. The chieftain's daughter ingests blue lotus powder in order to feign death and avoid an unwanted marriage. The swashbuckler returns to the village and visits the maiden's tomb. He gives her some black lotus powder in order to revive her, but she dies instead. He ingests the remaining black lotus powder and joins her in death.
Tosca: In the Space Alien city in hex 1403, order is kept by a ruthless Chief of Security. He suspects an artist of aiding and abetting a known criminal. The security chief desires the artist's lover, a famous singer. He uses the singer's jealousy to trap the artist.
The security chief imprisons the artist in a tower to await execution. The singer pleads for her lover's life. The security chief agrees to fake the exectution if the singer gives herself to him. She agrees, and he signs the order. The security chief thinks he finally has the singer, but she pulls out a dagger and kills him.
The artist awaits his execution. The singer comes to him and tells him the execution will be faked and reminds him to play dead. But the security chief has tricked her, and the execution is real. Security guards arrive to arrest the singer for murdering their chief. She jumps off the tower to her death.
Rigoletto: The Duke of Stones, the ruler of the Purple Man village in hex 1116, is a notorious womanizer. He is sometimes aided by his court jester, an ugly hunchback. A man whose daughter has been seduced and abandoned by the Duke complains, and the jester mocks him. The angry father curses both the Duke and the jester; he is imprisoned and sentenced to death.
The jester has a daughter, whom he is hiding from the Duke. However, the Duke has already noticed her and visits her in disguise. Some of the Duke's retainers kidnap the daughter, believing her to be the jester's lover. The truth is revealed in the Duke's court, but only after the Duke has ravished the maiden. Despite his rough treatment of her, the young woman still loves the Duke and chooses to stay as his consort.
The jester seeks revenge. He hires a visiting Dolm Man sorcerer to kill the Duke. The sorcerer, needing a sacrifice for a ritual agrees. He lures the Duke to his abode and has his sister serve the Duke. The Duke seduces the sister and gloats about his conquests. The sorcerer's sister begs her brother not to sacrifice the Duke. The sorcerer agrees if a replacement can be found. The jester's daughter, who has secretly followed the Duke, learns about his infidelity. However, she still loves the Duke and allows herself to be sacrificed in his place.
Faust: A Bone Man Sorcerer, prematurely aged from all the rituals he has cast, is disillusioned and attempts to commit suicide. He is stopped when Nyarlathotep appears and offers him all sorts of pleasure in exchange for his service. The sorcerer accepts and has his youth restored.
The Old One leads the sorcerer to all sorts of debauchery. He also helps him seduce a young Bone Woman. The sorcerer gives the young woman a sleeping potion to make her mother sleep through their tryst. But she gives her mother too much of the potion, and the old woman dies. The maiden is sentenced to death.
The sorcerer begs Nyarlathotep to save his lover. But the Old One has tired of his plaything and instead takes him away to some infernal region to suffer eternal torment.
More to come...
