I have had a burning desire the last few years to run a house-ruled 1st edition Pendragon sandbox campaign. What is Pendragon?
Pendragon is a hardcore player killing game. Everybody plays a knight, and everybody will eventually die, so the question is - what will you do before you die? What stories will be sung about you, what legacy will you leave behind? If you embrace Pendragon, you will experience horror, lust, betrayal, glory, mass slaughter, duels of honor, intrigue, revenge, eldritch magic, kingdom building, triumph, despair, madness and those elusive shining moments that validate your entire lifetime of playing RPG's.
If you are willing to bow to the winds of fortune, but to still battle them every minute to your last dying breath, and to achieve something greater than yourself - you must play Pendragon.
You don't need the rules - you will learn as you go. If I get at least 4 committed players, I will set up a game. If I get too many players, I will just split you into a few groups!
The year is AD 490, and the heirless High King Uther Pendragon is consolidating his hold on his great kingdom of Logres so he can muster an army to finally drive the Saxons out of Britain. Who wants to join him?

I haven't seen the 1st edition rules in many a year, but I seem to recall that you tend to play a family tree as much as a character, with one possible goal being advancing your 'house'. This was framed, as I recall, in terms of playing one character until death and then picking up with their offspring, sibling or cousin. But I suppose it could alternatively managed as each player having a 'stable' of several characters, playing one in any session or even several in the case of something larger going on.
Wish I still had all my old games. I have a later edition, maybe the 2nd.
All by way of saying, "OH ME, ME, PLEASE PICK ME!!!!!"
Can doctorx, warrioroffrobozz and rleduc go to makofan.proboards.com and register, and make a welcome post in the Logres Campaign board please?
Can coffee, kipper and brumbar go to makofan.proboards.com and register, and make a welcome post in the Cameliard Campaign board please?
Anybody that wants to join, I still have room. There is a board above these two called Pendragon Campaign Rules, and over trhe next week I will post Game Mechanics information and Background information
Makofan, would you be opposed to another player for this? I have never played a pbp game before, so not sure how much work I would be. I am, however, planning on running a Pendragon campaign for my friends (I own the first edition), and really would like to work out the mechanics before I start it.
I do plan to shamelessly copy many of your techniques seen in your posts, if you don't mind...
