Stefan Poag's The Mines of Khunmar is the best megadungeon that I have seen. (Click here to get it: www.blind-eye.com/blackmoor/khunmar_digest.pdf ) It has about 40 levels and sub-levels, along with 11 pages of descriptions. It's too bad that Stefan didn't transcribe his 80 pages of original notes along with the 11 pages of generalized description. I'm going to be modifying and using this excellent megadungeon in my forthcoming Holmes-rules Wilderlands campaign.

Good times! I always love seeing other people's hand-drawn maps.

This certainly does look sweet. I too love the hand-drawn maps.
Gives it more of a personal flavor.
I'll certainly give this a read-through. Thanks for the link!

Look at all those maps! This is a gold mine of stuff! Love the cover, too.

I keep a printout of this on my desk and read through a level every time I'm planning an adventure. It's a good way to prime the brain. Mines of Khunmar is one of the greats.

I can't wait to print this out. I'll keep it next to Under Xylarthen's Tower; maybe they'll even be a connecting passage between them.

I just started my group through Stefan's "Endless Tunnels of Enlandin" (from Dragonsfoot), and I'm really enjoying the simple elegance of his design. As soon as the new players move up a few levels, "Khunmar' is on the agenda. It looks like a good way to spend a few gaming years.

Sorry to bump this (not really ), but this megadungeon recently came to my attention, so now I'm trying to find a pdf of it. However, this particular link is no longer alive; would anyone happen to have a working one?

Ah, so that version is the fullest one ever made? I've found that already, but the title suggested there was probably an even more (if still not fully) complete version.
Thanks for the link.

Somehow I missed this the first time around, but Falconer's suggestion for Mines of Khunmar in his "ME on Crack" thread got me to look for it. Very nice!

Yeah, incomplete but a doozy even so! I've long been a fan of this one and the next time I need a megadungeon, this is where I'll turn.

He announced on his blog lately that he plans to publish a complete version.
It definitely is the best Moria I’ve ever seen (for D&D).
