Okay, I've finally got a character sheet I am willing to share. I have a blog post with a picture of it and an explanatory commentary. I have a page on my blog where I have a full-sized TIFF of it for download. (If this looks good or helpful to you and you'd like a PDF, or even a Word document you could edit yourself, you could always send a PM with an email address to which I could send the file as an attachment.) Fight on!

That is really fun. Where would you put experience points and prime-requisite bonus-to-accrual-of-experience? Also, what about the more in-game and less mechanical things like title, etc.? Fight on!

Isn't that the chick from D&D Expert Rulebook's title page?

Isn't that the chick from D&D Expert Rulebook's title page? Yes, it is. I looked at, got lazy, and sort of did it my own way. I have posted this before, but I don't believe that I has colored it at the time. It is (sort of) the wizard by Erol Otus. That image by him, the whole piece on the cover of that basic D&D book, is about my favorite D&D Image of all that I have seen. Attachment Deleted

Having played OD&D with my friends at the weekend, I'm thinking of making character sheets for each class / race to speed up character generation (particularly useful for cons). I just want to check that no-one has done this already so as not to reinvent the wheel. It seems all of the sheets posted on this thread already have been general purpose.
So what I mean is there would be a sheet for Fighting Men with Armor Class adjustment and Hit / Damage adjustment (as per Greyhawk), a sheet for Thieves or Monks (Blackmoor) with thieving abilities etc.
I'm also thinking of producing equipment 'kits' which can be chosen (at different price ranges depending how much gold the player rolled), with encumbrance pre-calculated, as that also ate into time which could have been better spent exploring the dungeon. Again, if this has already been done, please let me know.

Here are some gems from 1975, as presented awhile ago on the Playing at the World blog: Character Sheets in 1975I find the first two particularly awesome... I now see that two of the ones shown on this blog are actually class specific (Magic User and Thief), namely Bob Ruppert's "Dungeons & Dragons Character Sheets" circulated via American Wargamer, but I bet it's not easy to find the rest of them for the other classes.

Here are some draft character sheets for Fighting-Men and Thieves (using LBBs + Greyhawk modifications). Version 0.1 so happy to get constructive criticism. fighting-man-0.1.pdf (36.84 KB) thief-0.1.pdf (36.79 KB) Obviously they reflect the things I find important when I play, but ymmv.

Looking over the Fighting man sheet, some suggestions: -I get the desire to use the original title "fighting-man", but I'd change it to "fighter" to be more inclusive. The same page of Vol 1 of OD&D uses Fighter to describe the class, so this alt. title has been there since the beginning. -Move "Experience"/"Experience Bonus" to be near Level, since they are so closely tied together. -I think you need more room for weight allowed, you've left a very small space to write in 1500 or +500 etc. -Dragon Breath is missing a colon

Hi, thanks for the advice. Other projects have got stacked on top of this one, but I will come back to it in due course. The typewriter font is a free TTF called My Underwood. It and others can be found here: www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/list/classification/typewriterIn my opinion it gives a nice old 'feel' whilst still being legible.

I make main PCs full sized sheets because they have a lot of notes to take.
Henchmen and retainers get 3x5 double sided, and those have all the same info but much less space.

Since this thread has been re-awakened with new character sheet examples, might as well post mine: Character Creation CardThis is a trifold pamphlet with a 3x5 character sheet included. The rest of the pamphlet is quickstart character creation rules. There's not much room for equipment, and none for spells. Why? Because I think using a separate index card for a backpack and each large sack or other large container and each spellbook is better. If the players need to drop stuff to reduce encumbrance, they can just hand over index cards. If a spellbook is lost, the GM takes that index card. Players lose access to the items on the index cards they no longer have. GMs can note where each sack or spellbook winds up and just hand it back to the player when found. There are some quirks to Liber Zero, which is my houseruled version of OD&D, but everything is so close, you can use the same character card for straight OD&D. Just ignore the LZ-specific descriptions in the pamphlet.
