I've now got 17 players, which is great, but that's quite a few more than I expected, so (with the exceptions of people I already told to join us and who haven't yet sent me stats) I won't be taking on any more PCs in the immediate future.
Now, I'm quite happy to have as many players as I have; I did ask for them, after all Likewise, I know that PbP games tend to lose people quickly and often, so having a large group of starting PCs isn't a bad thing at all.
However, for logistical purposes, I am likely going to divide the characters into two parties once I know who is playing what. The two parties can interact with one another and membership between them can change over time, but, initially, I'll find it much easier if I don't have to accommodate 17 characters at a time.
Each party will start at a different entrance to Dwimmermount, as there are several. The dungeon's large enough to handle this and I actually think it'll be an interesting experiment to see how this campaign turns out.

I'm ready for the challenge: survival beyond 1st and even 2nd level. Thanks for putting this together, James. I've never read any of your blog posts about your campaign, so I have no idea what to expect, and I rather like it that way. Actually, my favorite blog posts by you are not even RPG related. I like when you dig up old books and chat about them. Anyway . . . Good stuff!
