( sorry for the delay) I have read all of the posts and have caught up. for some reason this website did not alert me of the postings) Mohammad seeing what has transpired Mohammad says, " great goddess protect our group from this undead." Mohammad will try to turn undead if nothing happens then he will detect evil MOHAMMAD: The Priest is intrigued-- being attuned to the forces beyond, he can usually feel a subtle energy present, but here it feels "cold" in this regard.
Invoking the words and gestures of his Detect Evil spell, he is rewarded with revelation...a strong current of evil surrounds the men at the table.
At this moment Amiyala and Doshi joined the party. The Renyu begins sniffing with intensity--his head snaps upwards towards the timber beams set in the ceiling- his fur rises in hackles and he emits a low growl. "Da**;" says a voice from the cieling. "You would have a Renyu." (in Tsolyani tongue) You hear a thud as some unseen presence drops to the floor as a man landing upon two feet and hear the unmistakable rasp of steel as a sword is drawn from a scabbard. But who ever--whatever it is--is completely invisible to your eyes- you can hear it coming towards you from the left side of the table. What do you do?

Balesh will wait until he thinks it is 5-10 feet away, then rush at it, slashing widely side-to-side with his sword INITIATIVE: BALESH (And party = 6, UNSEEN COMBATANT = 2)
Due to Invisibility, the foe is +2 to normal rolls to hit.
Balesh rolls a 16, with bonuses to hit he lands a powerful blow against the "ghost"- he rolls a 6 for damage, plus 4 for all adjustments and does 10 points of damage. A return blow misses him.Balesh springs into the room swinging his sword-- you all hear a muffled cry and blood becomes visible upon the floor. A blade sings towards the Nuroabite warrior but he feels the air and ducks as it wooshes over his head. An animalistic growl follows from the unseen foe....

Once Tekar has alerted those on the main deck, I will stay near the top of the stairs, watching the frozen figure on the stairs for any movement.

"This thing bleeds! To my side!" shouts Bálesh. He does his best to strike where he believes the foe is

Once Tekar has alerted those on the main deck, I will stay near the top of the stairs, watching the frozen figure on the stairs for any movement. TEKAR: You watch but he does not move- and suddenly you hear Balesh give a battle cry and a clamor of weapons below! The galley door from the outer room landing is big enough for two to move abreast through, and Doshi and Amiyala hurry into the room, Doshi drawing his axe, Amiyala's sword having already been drawn as they circle the table, making room for allies while trying to engage the invisible foe. The seamen remain still. Amiyala rolls a 20! Sadly it is somewhat lost on a damage roll of 1, making it 2 points +3 for her bonuses.
Doshi swings, a 10- he fails to connect.

MOhammad will concentrate on the source of the evil and will try to repel and dispel the evil out. Try a turn undead check if possible

I will draw my sword and move towards the rear of the group, but keeping the figure in view. "WE HAVE JOINED BATTLE! BE WATCHFUL FOR MORE ENEMIES!" I call out to those above!

MOhammad will concentrate on the source of the evil and will try to repel and dispel the evil out. Try a turn undead check if possible Upon Tekumel priests do not have a specific power of turning undead, but there are artifacts which can control undead, of which Mohammad is not currently in possession; these are mostly books,, scrolls or amulets. He also has no spell which might dispel the evil- his mace his his most likely ward against the unseen attacker.

Mi'kimu maintains a defensive posture using his shield and axe, wary of swinging wildly in such a confined space, hoping for some chance to strike the invisible foe — perhaps it will strike him or one of his companions, and give away its position.

Mi'kimu maintains a defensive posture using his shield and axe, wary of swinging wildly in such a confined space, hoping for some chance to strike the invisible foe — perhaps it will strike him or one of his companions, and give away its position. If I mentioned this already pardon but the creature can be attacked but at -2. So there is some use of the other senses that aids you. I will run three rounds of combat to speed things up and then give anyone a chance to execute any other action, or if feasible you can interject an action you might have reasonably taken in any of these rounds for those of you not directly engaged in melee. Hopefully I am making sense! (All rolls will adjusted for combat bonuses) Round 1 is mostly concluded except for Mohammad the Priest's attack with his mace (The combatant has exhausted his attacks)- Priest rolls a 4 and unfortunately misses.
Round 2: Initiative won by Unseen Foe, Roll: 13, Doshi the Renyu is hit for 8 points of damage. Response attacks- Doshi 10 (miss), Balesh 15 (Hit, Damage: 7) Amiyala 6 (miss), Mohammad 5 (miss)
Round 3: Init. won by Party- Doshi 17 (Hit Damage 3), Balesh 16 (Hit damage 8), Amiyala 14 (hit, damage 6) Mohammad 20! Followed by a 19! (Critical Hit rule in EPT).
The battle is quickly ended, and brings and end to your assailant after a literal blood bath that leaves all of the attackers spattered with red gore. It was never going to survive the last assault but it was a bash from Mohammad's mace that knocked the foe lifeless. As a gasp escapes it, there suddenly materializes before you a bizarre figure which is flying backwards through the air. It looks like a tall, cat headed humanoid with incredibly large pointed ears, covered in fur, and wearing leather armor and gauntlets. It has long fangs. A steel sword flies from one hand, from the other a small object clatters across the galley floor to land at the feet of a seated pirate. The figure crashes to the deck, quivers, then lies still. Blood begins to pool around its ravaged body. It appears to be of a warrior caste. No on present has ever seen or heard of anything like it. Doshi has been wounded rather seriously and Amiyala and Karunaz move into steady the Renyu and begin to tend his hurt. Actions/Reactions?

While poor Doshi is being tended to, Mi'kimu casts about for the item the creature dropped. He won't pick it up just yet — but he wonders if it was used by this strange warrior to become invisible, or to freeze these sailors, or both.

Mi'kimu quickly finds the item...a small, stone like eye-shaped item with a gem set in it one it one side and a small stud upon the other...he realizes he has seen something like this before, back in the marshes on the journey to the buried crypt where his adventures in Tsolyanu began. Vortumoi the Evil Priest used one to heal Mohammad and Balesh after the battled with the Frog Demons. This one looks a little different, but Mi'kimu is certain its the same kind of device, which he recalls Vortumoi calling an Eye and describing as coming from the Time of the Ancient Ones. He also remembers that Vortumoi said there were many different kinds and that they were highly powerful and valuable.

Recognizing it, and assuming it is safe to handle [although I don't think he can use it], Mi'kimu retrieves it and will show it to the others in a moment — but first, he goes to inspect the strange warrior and the blade it dropped.

Mi'kimu sees the sword and scabbard are of of very alien artifice...as is the leather armor which the creature wears. The armor is sculpted in a combination of shapes and patterns unlike any the warrior has seen before, almost like something like intricately carved wood decoration, but of leather... while the sword and its sheath would rival any of a high smith. Looking upon the warrior he is taken with a strange sort of admiration for the sleek furred cat-being...it's fur is yellow and striped and spotted and it's glittering blue eyes, even in death, hold a fierce dignity. It appears to Mi'kimu that the leather vestments upon it's upper body may conceal some kind of pouch, as a strap around it's neck is visible, whatever is attached to the strap being tucked away.

Does Bálesh have steel weapons? If I recall aright, only Mi'kimu has an iron dagger he took from the dead S'su. I scrolled through the posts from their previous adventures and did not find anything, though I had a faint recollection of an iron weapon but it was probably the dagger I'm thinking about. I'm very certain Balesh uses a sword of Chlen hide. Iron is extremely rare on Tekumel...

Mi'kimu hands the blade to Bálesh and surrenders the Eye to somebody, perhaps Karunaz. He then warily checks the pouch ... all the while wondering how this strange creature came to be here, whether it might have companions aboard, and how it knows to speak Tsolyani.

Amiyala has bound up her Renyu's slashes, stroking his head.
Balesh receives the blade and the warrior in him feels a thrill at its heft and quality.
Karunaz accepts the eye and looks it over.
"This Eye has a faint inscription upon its back," he says. "Its in the ancient Ilyani characters. I have no skill in it beyond knowing its general shapes."
Mi'kimu nods as he searches the fallen attacker.
Opening the leather cuiras on its upper body he is surprised to see that in spite of the creature's imposing build its upper body consists of three pairs of breasts, like the underbelly of a mother cat.
Inside its vestments hangs a buttoned leather pouch.
Inside the pouch is another Eye, a strange brass cylindrical device with apertures on either end covered by glass, and a strange copper medallion which looks like two plates placed together at their rims.
It is nearly as big as Mi'kimu's palm.
Bizarre but elegant flowing glyphs are delicately scribed in a circle around the edges of it, and while a durable item well crafted, it looks to be very old, slighlty scuffed and pitted with small marks though obviously lovingly cared for.

Mi'kimu hands the other Eye to Karunaz to investigate. "Perhaps one of these Eyes was used to arrest the sailors in place, and the other to render this elegant warrior invisible to us. What then might this be?" Mi'kimu asks, and shows the others the strange medallion.
"Is this writing around the rim? To me, it is more chicken-scratch ..."
Looking at the medallion [OOC — I'm picturing this as a sort of figure-eight shape] Mi'kimu tries to determine if the two plates are welded together, or if they might be articulated in some way, like wheels or pulleys.

Mi'kimu can discern that it appears from the crack between the plates that they are not welded together...there could be a movement between them. No one present has a clue about the strange symbols. It looks more like a closed metal watch exterior than a figure eight-- granted your characters are unaware of watches but this is to give you as a player a better picture. Like a copper plated watch on a chain, minus the dial and chain.

For reference, not exactly what it looks like...take away the dial and the chain and middle decoration and replace the outer symbols with weird etched cursive and it's smooth and copper...
