foxroe, scottenkainen Need to know what Zing is doing, and am trying to interpret Spartacus - is he trying to mount the manticore and use him as a steed?
I'll try to put it in game mechanics terms. Spartacus wants to try to grapple and overbear the manitcore, while leaving the manticore's movement rate unrestricted. Next, Spartacus would try to spur the manticore towards the other combatants so he could attack them in mounted combat. And, if that doesn't work, he just plans to stab the manticore's back from a position of being above and behind...
The enraged manticore whirls around and savagely bites Spartacus, who uses this opportunity to rip himself free of the beast's jaws, and use his head as a springboard and mounts the manticore. Zing sidesteps a few feet while he watches the show. Down south, Talos fails to break free from the stone hands, and is buffetted and burned by an uncontrolled blazing sphere that just popped into existence. He is close to expiring.
DECLARATIONS Zing moves 1 hex NE then 2 SE Manticore attacks Spartacus (normal) Spartacus attempts to mount the manticore Talos attempts to break free from stone hands Eye will cast blazing sphere on Talos
RESOLUTIONS Manticore Init 23, Spartacus Init 21 Manticore rolls 14+9=23, hits Spartacus for <2d6>=8 damage Spartacus Melee +12, rolls 18, total 30, and jumps on the manticore's back - the manticore can try to throw Spartacus next round, needs a 19 (Spartacus' might score), gets his melee bonus of +9; if he fails, Spartacus can goad him in a direction Talos , feat of strength, needs 5 or less on d10, rolls 9 ands does not break free. -Gale winds do not move Talos, but rip him for <1d6>=3 damage Eye casts Blazing Sphere. Held characters get no DE roll. - gale wind tries to blow away sphere. Needs to succeed at MF roll, rolls 5+8=13, short of the 17 he needs. Sphere scatters 5 feet south and burns both characters. Talos takes <2d6>=5 damage and is down to 1 hit point. Eye makes DE roll to avoid own sphere, gets 15+10=25 and succeeds.

Spartacus grips the manticore's mane with one hand and spanks its rear with his sword with the other. If that doesn't get him moving towards Zing, then Spartacus will start stabbing the following round.
The manticore throws Spartacus, and then both are hurled around by Gale force winds. Other winds rip the Colossus in half, and he falls, inanimate. Zing looks on dispassionately
Manticore 12+9=21, bucks off Spartacus. Colossus gets no DE as he is caught, and can only make one Feat of Strength roll. He takes <1d6>=6 damage and dies Eye casts Gale Fury on Manticore/Spartacus Manticore DE 8+5=13, rolls 3+13=16 fails, takes <1d6>=5 damage, and is blown 4 feet SE Spartsacus DE 10, rolls 1+10 =11 fails, takes <1d6>=3 damage, and is blown 6 feet N
Is Manticore still under Zing's spell? If not he may just go after the sorcerer. Then again, Spartacus is the more immediate threat.
It's true. Spartacus plans to roll out of his tumble into a standing position, pivot, and charge back at the Manticore for a stabbing thrust with his mighty sword. If the Manticore turns his back on him to face Zing, so much the better.
Thanks derv, I would love feedback. This was supposed to be an impromptu fun thing that got a bit more complicated than I epected. It really was an excuse for 1)People to play monsters and 2) me to learn the M&M rules better. I currently have an M&M campaign going on at makofan.lefora.com and I am struggling with infusing ideas and energy into it

The eye moves his Gale Fury towards Zing, who stops just out side its range. Meanwhile, inside the other Gale Storm, the maticore duels with Spartacus, and Spartacus lands another solid hit in the manticore. Both are unruffled by the storm around them.
The Gale Storms have now been going on long emough that they are filled with sand and obscure sight through them
MECHANICS Manticore rolls 6+9=15, misses SPartacus Spartacus Melee +12, rolls 11/7, chooses 11+12=23, and hits for <1d6+4>=9 damage Manticore DE 8+5=13, rolls 9+13=22 success and takes no damage from Gale Spartsacus DE 10, rolls 11+10 = 21 success Eye moves a Gale Fury towards Zing and takes no damage from Gale

"Haha! You've played right into my trap, manticore!" Spartacus yelled for the crowd as he crouched, brought up his sword, and hoped to spring up and impale the beast on it. If this worked, the crowd might never know he was just winging all this and had no plan.
