Kumahl "It is near. And it has wings. One very large bug."
Pointing in the direction he heard the bug, so the guardsmen can lock into it. Kumahl pulls his waterskin out and finds a patch of soft dirt and makes a puddle of mud. If he judges that the sound stopped within throwing distance, Kumahl will begin throwing mud globs in the direction and vicinity of the last sound.
Huruyan "Large and with wings. Sounds like it is a queen. Lord Captain, may I suggest that it would be a very good idea to kill it, the last thing we need is a hive of Hlyss near here!"
Lord Captain Kureshu "From what I have heard Hylss queens are huge and unable to move," said Kureshu to Huruyan. "They are at the heart of the Hlyss hive ships and if something is flying, it is not one of them." "However, I do agree the last thing we need is a hive of Hlyss near here."
"Guards, be on alert and stay together!" he commanded his troops. "Kumahl of the Fishing Bird says there is an invisible Hlyss hunting us." "Listen for any noise. Watch for any motion that is not the wind."
"Lord Seer, anything you can do the defend or detect would be helpful."
"This will make going into the entrance tricky." "Someone will have to stand guard here while others search below."
Lord Seer Epengar "My Shield of Defense is best used when we are hard pressed," Epengar responded to Kureshu. "It only will protect a few but it does that well." "Whoever is protected by it could hold that entrance firmly, for a short time."

Huruyan "It appears that we should go ahead and start, therefore I volunteer to lead the party going into the pyramid and trying to find the stolen dowry."
Kumahl Kumahl still facing the bushes and the unseen Hlyss backs up slowly until he has just passed the two guardsmen. Instructing them to move slowly to rejoin the rest of the group, Kumahl begins walking backwards while trusting the guards to guide them all back to the group. Kumahl still carries a sandy mudball as he is uncertain how to make an unseen enemy, visible.
Lord Seer Epengar To Kumahl, "While I know there are ways to see the unseen, I have not yet learned how."
Looking at the sandy mudball in Kumahl's hand, "You have more mundane ways to do so I see."
"I'm concerned now about being attacked from behind if we enter the entrance to the ruins." "Do you have any idea how big a force the Hlyss can bring against us?"
While gesturing toward the ruins, "Either of you have a feel for how many Qol may be in there?"

Kumahl "Lord Seer, I failed to look at the size of the entrance. How big is it?"
As he continues with the guardsmen back to the ruins, "Brother Huruyan, would you guess the flying Hlyss will be able to navigate the ruined corridor?"
"Allow me to check something once we get to the entrance. I might have access to another solution."
Huruyan "The only Hlyss I know of in the area is the invisible one, and we have the portal they were using to get here so it is possible that there is only the one and no others can get here. As for the Qol, I have no idea."
--- The entrance that is in the one more squared than the others is clearly often used. There are eroded carving around all sides but it is hard to make out what they might have been. Wile wide enough for two, what ever doors there may have been are long gone.
Huruyan can see that this has been heavily used by Qol. Their tracks are everywhere.
The passage from the entrance is a short landing just wide enough for two men to lay head to head. Stairs lead down into darkness after this square landing.

Huruyan "Sorry, Kumahl but we really have no idea how big the invisible bug is, however the corridor does seem to be fairly large."
Kumahl "No worries, my brother. We just need to watch our back trail is all."
Lord Captain Kureshu "Get lanterns from the supplies," commanded Kureshu. "Lord Seer Epengar, gather what you need to accompany Huruyan of the Fishing Bird down."
"Hunter Huruyan, will you need more than your four guards to go with you?" "There may be an entire nest of Qol below."
"Lord Seer, can you work with Qol?"
Lord Seer Epengar "The Qol speak the language of the Priests of Ksarul so, I can communicate with them." "I have no power to command them however."
"We shall need some extra bearers to bring out the dowry once we find it and to light the way."

Huruyan "Since there may be a large number of Qol in there I think a rather large party should go in."
Lord Captain Kureshu Speaking to Huruyan, "From your experience with the Hlyss you do not believe we will need to maintain a large or small camp here?"
"I'm not sure all of us could fit into that tunnel even if it was a good idea." "Since we can't all enter, how many need to go in do you think?" Lord Captain asked.
Huruyan "What do you think Kumahl, I would go with about 8 fighters, and however many bearers that Lord Seer Epengar thinks we would need?"
Kumahl "Eight should be sufficient. Just be careful of any side chambers. Wouldn't want to get ambushed."
"The rest of us should probably post guards here and in pairs so that we don't lose anyone else to the Hlyss."
Kumahl has not had a chance to rest to regain his use of his Telepathy.
Lord Captain Kureshu "You four, you will be going with Hunter Huruyan." commanded Kureshu.
"Get your gear and get ready to move out!"
"Lord Seer, please select the bearers you want so we can get them equipped."
"You, get lanterns for the bearers!" Kureshu directed a senior porter.
--- After Lord Seer Epengar had selected a few bearers and directed one as senior bearer, they were given lanterns and baskets.
Everyone then awaited for Huruyan to say he was ready and to lead the way into the ruin.
The remaining members of the Blazoned Cresent took up position near the entrance and started setting up tents and pavilions.

Huruyan Huruyan checked all of the men that were to go with him into the pyramid, and of course checked his own weapons and gear, then arranged them such that pairs of fighters were followed by torch bearers to provide them with the light they would need. "If you are ready then lets proceed, but carefully, watching everywhere." With that Huruyan lead the way into the pyramid.
Kumahl Turning to those remaining, "We will need a perimeter of light. Shadow will favor an unseen foe. No man should be by himself. Travel in pairs or groups of three."
