So um, yeah, I didn't think I'd be finishing this up the night before my new campaign begins, BUT...Spawning Grounds of the Crab-Men is "done". I'm sending in the first draft shortly.
It ended up weighing in at 12,995 words on 16 pages in Word. I sorta want to add 5 words SOMEWHERE, ya know?
With that said, I'd like to begin in earnest on this bit we spoke about a while back, Calithena:
I think the open-ended level approach might work for level 5 or 8. Maybe level 5, we could put Longspear's Halfway Inn on there with a few NPCs, a wandering monster chart, maybe two oppositional 'leaders' for the level, and set it up that way - the ol' "Red Nails" approach if you follow my meaning. (EGG used this all the time, for those who had eyes to see it, and so did Jaquays of course.) So, that's a great idea if you want to rock out on that next, Sham.
I hate to say it, but I'm "caved-out" after doing two maps of mostly caves. How flexible are you on the whole "Lower Caves" title for Level 5?
If we can agree that you'd be OK with say 50/50 (caves and constructed) again, OR that I can flesh out the Inn itself with an extensive dungeon of it's own, I'd like to claim Level 5 now.
I'm guessing you will, so I am going to start ruminating on Level 5 and Longspear right now.

Those who do the work get what they need to do it. You're set, man. Especially because I may be hitting you up for cave maps for level 2 as soon as Fight On! #3... Seriously, you're doing great work, keep it up!

So, this project is still very much ongoing. I'm working on level 2 right now, and of course Sham's level 3, already written, won the frickin' adventure contest, so that's going to be great.
James M. is on deck for level 4 and then the mighty Sham is rocking it out again for level 5. Who's going from there? A good potential new collaborator has contacted me and I want to tell him what's available.
6 - Fane of Salicia - ? 7 - Palace of Eternal Illusion - Zulgyan? 8 - Deep Caves - ? 9 - Citadel of the Dark Trolls - was this budman? I think someone snatched this...I can read the thread, I just want to see who's around still 10 - I already wrote it 11 - ? I thought someone might have been interested in this and/or 13, but I don't remember who 14 - Geoffrey? 15 - ? (though if it's not me they have to suffer working collaboratively with me on a couple of things that I already wrote)
Anyway, I know this info is earlier on the thread, please don't feel slighted etc. if I didn't mention you...it's been a busy few months. Sound off!

Yep, I will do a Gamma World-style level for you there. Since this is the second-to-last level of those listed so far, I haven't started it yet. But I have been busy. ;D

I am re-doing the rough map, and will submit it in the next couple of days. Ok, see how this looks:

Hi Stormbringer!
Glad to have you here! Rob Conley already re-did the rough map though. What you probably ought to do is look through the list of levels on thread 3 and pick one to get started on.
Roughly, appropriate character level = dungeon level.
Thanks for your interest!

I saw a preliminary list of who was doing what level, was that finalized, or are the levels pretty open?

I started a discussion thread on ideas for Level 11 Fungus Forest and Mold Falls. Since it is level 11, I do not have to worry about it right now (which is good because I am concentrating on paying writing right now). If anybody wants to do level 11, though, please go ahead. I have no problem relinquishing it to somebody who has great ideas and enthusiasm! OTOH, I have no problem staying with it and finishing it.

Mako, I'd love it if you and the group would keep it up as a fun spare time activity. Right now there is no hurry on this project - we'll keep going through at an even keel. As momentum builds that may change, but no-one needs to get off the boat even if they're busy.
