I expect psions can at times feel emotional residue. And strong personalities, especially other psions, spawns, and alien intelligences.
Psychometry, touching an object and knowing its history (previous uses and users) and maybe strange insights and hunches. She might call it intuition.

One problem with that notion is that given Carcosa's billions of years of pre-human history it would be difficult to find a place or object that WASN'T steeped in horror of some sort.

Make it shorter term. Say some places are steeped in ancient wierdness, you can feel that like faint background music. But anything thats happened in the last day or less, you can follow a trail.
