I posted an interest check a couple days ago down in the SciFi board but haven't seen any responses yet. Figured I'd post up here at the top of the page and make sure everyone saw it.
Makofan and I are going to run a game of Stars Without Number. Sandbox sci-fi adventures, the SWN book is available for free in PDF, and the rules are a lot easier to learn than Traveller*. What more could you ask for? Ask away, we're very player-friendly.
* personal opinion only, don't hate on me, Traveller fans.

Looks like we've got Cameron and coffee. One more and I think we can get started.

I've sort of grown distant from play-by-posts, because way too many of them die off eventually. However, it's SWN...
What the hell, count me in. Before we start playing in earnest, can you post some info on the sector and the general assumptions of the setting you have in mind? What sort of adventures might there be, what sort of characters would be suitable, do we have our own ship etc.?

Stars Without Number seems like it could be a great game to explore via a pbp medium.
I am on a self imposed 2 year hiatus from pbp's or else this sounds perfect. I will peek in as a lurker and check it out. Good luck with this

I've never played SWN, but Traveller is my first love when it comes to RPGS. So if this is like Traveller count me in!
Where was that PDF, again?

Looks like we have numbers, potentially, so let's take this conversation to the thread in General Sci-Fi and I can talk a little more about how Mak and I are thinking about running this game.

There's room for more if you want in, st4tic. In case you do, here are your rolls. They are in order (STR, INT, WIS, DEX, CON, CHR). You can replace any single die roll with a "6". Also remember that, once you choose a class, you can replace a prime requisite attribute score with a 14. 6,4,4 6,4,1 1,6,6 2,6,2 4,3,2 1,6,3 The Dicenomicon app was rolling hot tonight! Money roll was a "1", alas, so your character will start with 500 credits to spend on any equipment in the Core Rules of Tech level 4 or lower.

I'm not too familiar with SWN, but is there room for one more?

I'm not too familiar with SWN, but is there room for one more? I was gonna cap it at five, as that's what the rulebook suggests is best, but I think we'll be ok with six. Anyone after this is going on the waitlist, though. Here are your PC's rolls. They are in order (STR, INT, WIS, DEX, CON, CHR). You can replace any single die roll with a "6". Also remember that, once you choose a class, you can replace a prime requisite attribute score with a 14. 3,3,1 4,2,3 6,2,4 6,4,4 5,3,1 2,5,5 And a "2" for starting credits, so you begin with 600 credits to spend on any equipment in the Core Rules of Tech level 4 or lower.
