This is in response to Kent the Mighty who proceeded to get the GG thread locked elsewhere: Simply, what I talk about is confined to the questions I am asked, I owe that and nothing else to someone as an exchange of courtesies for having agreed to participate in the interview. What you want me to do otherwise, all of that self-entitlement aside, has nothing to do with it. I was not waffling, and I did manage to describe the basis for the concept open<>closed. And if you really believe that the six years invested in researching and writing about this, my baby, would be paraded out haphazardly or for free, then you must have gone off your meds, seriously.
::Waves at Fin:: Please lock this now FIN; it was but a response I wanted to make prior to the GG thread being locked due to the alienating rudeness Kent showed.
Ciao, Ciao, Ciao

Kent is a habitual troll who thrives on provoking arguments online. He seems to honestly believe he is more intelligent than most other people and somehow thinks this makes him superior in some way. He fails to see that this very attitude simply makes him appear to be a clown in the eyes of most people. A sad and pathetic man, it is a total waste of time to attempt to reason with him. Not that you probably will Rob, but don't waste any sleep over him and his spite.

I am aware of Kent from one particular run-in over a year ago, this, again, during one of my interviews. Thank you for your humane and positive manner. I have not too often run across those who combine those qualities and with the insight allowing them to penetrate to the nature of it all.

I'm hoping to avoid making this argument worse, as it already has spilled into three total threads now. Here's my take on the issue: Basically, I value all of our old-timers and don't want to drive them away. I'm proud of the fact that Dave Arneson hung out here when he was able. I'm glad that we have several of his players posting on occasion (Robert the Bald, Greg Svenson, et al), along with guys like Rick Krebs and others from "the day." I think that these guys have a lot to contribute to this corner of the internet.
Rob goes back to the earliest of the early days of the hobby. I value him and appreciate the fact that he's willing to come here talk about his experiences. Please do not drive him away.
In this corner of OD&D Discussion, Rob is king. If he wants threads locked or deleted, I'll do it because this is the "Rob Kuntz" section.
