Over on the S&W sub-board there has been some discussion about "buzz", or the general lack of it. I thought I'd bring the DD part of the conversation over here rather than derail that thread...
This is mostly correct.
As a courtesy to both John and to all those who pre-ordered their boxed sets before I joined the DD project, I decided that I wouldn't release anything further until those boxed sets had been delivered.
For those who may be interested, I do have a few things in the works for DD this year.
The first is a version "b" of the Reference Rules which contains all the corrections (to the Ref Rules) that I am presently aware of. I will also release an errata sheet which will detail every individual change, and both these will be free to download of course.
The second thing I'm planning is a short adventure contest. This is aimed at encouraging input from the community, and also at getting some adventure content "out there" for people to use. I will be offering up some very choice prizes from my personal collection as incentive... more details shortly.
The third thing I'm planning is to "translate" three of my existing dungeons for DD. The first two are the prize winning "one page dungeons" which I wrote a couple of years back for that contest, and the third is a larger episode which I wrote for Fight On!'s "Darkness Beneath" series, but which has not yet appeared in print.
As far as "promoting" DD goes, well that's a whole different effort again. I'm just one guy with a regular and pretty full real-life; I have a seven month old daughter who doesn't sleep, a full time day job, and I'd like to fit in a game of D&D occasionally! That's why the ImmersiveInk website hasn't had much love lately, and also why I'd like to keep the primary DD discussion happening here on these boards.
Once John's boxed sets have all shipped and the above things are in motion, I will better be able to take stock of where Ink and DD are at, and look at which areas need the most attention. I can possibly look at soliciting some help if I can't manage it by myself.
On the whole I am feeling very positive about what 2013 has in store for DD

while I can't speak for Simon I believe he plans to wait until John has done his thing with the BHP version of DD before then throwing his energies into making DD the Immersive Ink product. When that happens I suspect we'll see DD begin to get promoted with enthusiasm by the publisher. This is mostly correct.
