Well I've finished reading my copy and loved it. I strongly agree with busman's comment in his initial post: "more obvious titles for the different articles to help set them off more". Perhaps simply bolding them would be enough. I too think the mix between articles, adventures and other bits and pieces is very good and hope to see that mix continue.
The three adventures are great and although I initially thought there was a lack of reward in The Tomb Complex of Ymmu M'Kursa, my brain started ticking over, thinking up various reasons to bring the PCs in and I could see some great potential for something larger, epic almost. Likewise, The Ruined Monastery is just crying out to be expanded, so I am glad to hear James say he will tie in future contributions to the adventure. And of course Nature's Nasty Node would make a great and easy to use side quest, a theme that can be used again with the tables provided - nice touch that.
There is some good stuff in the add-on rules-type articles. I'm not normally interested in new classes, but I could see myself using the Swanmay in our group. The Flexible Sorcery idea is one that may get a try-out too. I absolutely loved the idea of the Enchanted Holy Symbols, but thought some of the Puissant Priestly Powers were perhaps just a bit too low level for their power and effects. I would probably make them higher level spells in my campaign. I loved the Artifacts, Adjuncts, & Oddments column, I hope that becomes a regular feature. The Jug of Oozes really tickled my funny bone and I can think of one annoying player I'd like to have find it. I must admit that the Creepies & Crawlies did little for me, but then I'm not the nutty sort when it comes to DMing, more of a straight man me. Still, I hope this too becomes a regular column.
Paul's The Space Wizards is not something I would use, but it made for great reading and no doubt some interesting game play. The highlight of the magazine for me is Calithena's Setting Up Your Sandbox. I found it both inspiring and exciting, but scary at the same time. I would love to give this a go.
Again, like busman, my favourite piece of art is the one on page 11, but I also quite like the drama of the silhouette picture on page 22, which really tells a story.
All in all a great zine, packed full of great ideas and many useful tools. I will be buying the next one as soon as it's released. Thanks to all involved.
Oh and glad to see you got yours too ant, that's at least two copies in Australia. May there be many more. ;D
