Okay, so it looks like Robert J. Kuntz’ Ice Grave Adventure project is underway. Here is how it unfolded: Troll Magazine #1: Ice Grave adventure set in my World of Kalibruhn ”Ice Grave” sounds like just the kind of thing I'd really love to run, and particularly so since you set it in Kalibruhn. But apparently Troll Magazine is impossible to find Any chance you will be making pdf's available or have any hardcopies (or even photocopies) to sell? If someone would volunteer to edit and illustrate for a copy and credits I might consider getting it up on RPGMarketplace for a very-smallish sum At this point, the first volunteer steps forward to do editing and a basic layout. (Me) Hey, Rob, I might be interested in taking on this project, depending upon what you are looking for in the illustration department. Are you talking about redrawing maps or putting in actual pictures and such? I'm a bit of a cartoonist, but certainly not an illustrator for a product of this type if you want classic interior artwork. The IG addie would require editing, redraw of simple maps and maybe an illo or two or more. Snorri then steps forward to do the maps. If it's about redrawing maps, I'm not too bad at doing that and I got the appropriate material home (using Illustrator and photoshop). Dan will convince some starving artist to contribute some basic artwork. I'm sure we could get one of the Fight On artists to contribute a pic or two and I'd be pleased to lend an eye to proofing if it helps. So… at this point we have a project team of five. 1. Rob -- adventure concept and design 2. Marv (Finarvyn) -- edit and text layout 3. Nicolas (Snorri) –- cartography 4. Dan (Alderron) –- artwork coordinator 5. TBA -- artwork My assumption is that since it's a "smallish sum" project and not a big moneymaking grab, that the project team is basically working for free. If the artwork can't be aquired as a freebie we may have to ponder some means to acquire a "smallish" slush fund. Anyway, the purpose of this thread is to give updates on how the project is progressing and to allow for the project team to discuss "out loud" if they wish rather than by PM.

OK. I emailed Fin the necessary parts and included a snip of the artwork for Troll #1 cover (not mine but to be used for inspiration only). I am figuring $4 for he adventure and most of that will be donated beyond my own coffers as I note in the after matter when finished (the donation is RPG related). I will be on hand to examine milestones in the project and to direct where needed but would rather do this off-line through email, so Marv can distribute an email list through which we can coordinate personally and then, I think, update here for the progress made when milestones are completed. -- RJK
PS--as for the art, let us find the artists first, ascertain the amount needed and discuss from there, keeping in mind the smallish sum and the donation aspect while doing so.

Okay. Discussion will occur "behind the scenes" with possible updates posted if deemed worthwhile.

Well, yeah, an "Ice Grave" would be cool. Oh ... maybe you meant the concept of getting an old RJK adventure brought back to life? That's cool as well.

Heh. Reborn you say? It has already lived in my mind and on others' tables. But being a good way to redistribute an OOP and unavailable work, yes, I agree. The whole is shaping up rather nicely, Fin. Good show!

Yes, of course a life-time endeavor on my part. There were 4 CDs worth scanned during the 3 auctions, not to mention others in non-electronic form as well as those partials and notes I've written in electronic form. I would be forced to create a dozen dopples of myself to accomplish all. So, I must concentrate on "One" over the next few years. Perhaps at best the CDs (and scans) could be remastered in PS and other and sold as a project, then discussed afterwards. But that in itself is beyond my own abilities and comprehension to do; and I would need someone to take full charge of the matter without too much initial guidance in the affair overall. There just isn't time in my day for it anymore with all I have before me that I want to do. Sacrifices being made everywhere. So it goes...

BUMP. Haven't heard an update for a while. Are we still in the art phase or is that dead? Someone please email me if there's progress being made. Thanx.

Andy "Atom" Taylor as of yesterday is doing the color cover for the adventure and should have it finished (with his schedule as it is) in a week. That leaves a few interior illustrations which are outstanding being handled through another source (through Dan). I am also going to include a computer illustration in color that I did for the "gate" to the next part I had envisioned for this (i.e., The Horrid Swamp) and which I might consider finishing in the same way at a future time. That will be the ending illo.

Sounds good! I can't wait to blend the art with the text and get this baby put together!

An icy cold wind blows across the barren landscape. The numb guards look to the horizon, nothing to be seen. It's been months and still no word...

How this will work, just to clarify... There will be pdfs of my OOP products available for sale singularly or as a group: Ice Grave, Bottle City, CAS1 & CAS2 and possibly a combo of D&A/Stalk. There will be a discount for purchasing them as a group. The DVD is a separate deal. Black Blade is ascertaining right now whether they have the time resources needed to start/finish the project. This will fall upon Grodog to master and to product manage. It's ultimately his call. If they green light it, then we will proceed to release the pdfs as we finish the DVD collection. I do not wish to do this in parts. Whatever publisher signs for the DVD gets the pdfs as well. There are almost, in my estimation, 2,000 files, including my remaining Castle Greyhawk levels, Greyhawk Sewers, Lost City of the Elders Notes and Map(s), Greyhawk Outdoor Maps, The Barbarous Coast (ie, Wild Coast--17,000 words plus maps) and just a slew of other items of interest (all my Red Book notes, for instance) including the original El Raja Key levels and notes, etc., etc. and so on. People interested in all of this might want to let Grodog know that he and BB have support of this community (if only in part). Can't hurt and can only help. Note: I also intend to set up a new board to answer questions specifically related to the RJK-DVD files, so there will be a back-end "support" for these--for as long as I live, that is. All of this depends on whether Black Blade can do this. If not, I will continue shopping the DVD project and PDFs elsewhere. Thanks Aldarron! Rob

Cool.
Let Grodog know. He's the master of this if BB can do it. It's really out of my hands at this point except for some minor descriptive notes needed to introduce the files/groups/sections.

I wonder if y’all would consider rebooting the Ice Grave as a stand-alone project. Did the new cartography get completed?

Hiya Michael.
It's been redirected as a print project for either BB or Lesser Gnome Games. The art and maps will be completely redone and an editor brought in to bring it up to 1e standards (it was originally generic, then the edit took it to quasi-1e, but there were some problems in fully translating the original generic parts). No time frame as my plate is full for the next 2 years, and if this occurs in between it will be the company that takes it and irons out the current wrinkles, as noted.
I am also in the midst of speaking to Guy Fullerton, at his request, about taking Dark Druids (pdf 1e compatible) and having Chaotic Henchmen, his concern, republish it under the current OGL-SRD.

I'd love to have copies of "The Machine Level" and the boreal stuff. Anything that the rest of us can do to support this?

The Machine Level is part of the "full plate" that I noted, Keith. I have a open contract time with BB to put that to rest. The remaining Castle levels are problematical, however. No slight intended to the fans, of course, but I'm concentrating on board game designs as well as non-fiction conceptual models/creative form/inspirational books and the like.
