Since he doesn't post here, I thought I'd offer up some links to Robert Kuntz's main web presence. 1. Rob's publishing company Pied Piper has a web page where you can order many of his products. 2. Rob has a messare board for Pied Piper Publishing. It doesn't seem to be that active anymore, but has some great sections on Castle Maure, Gary's Greyhawk, and other stuff like that. (I'm not sure why I can't link to the board directly. I keep getting the same address for the board as the main site.) EDIT: It should be a direct link now!3. Rob has a blog where he discusses whatever gaming stuff is on his mind.

...his blog was recently the scene of a sh!tstorm over the OSR, due to his distancing himself from the movement and having Tim Kask do a guest blog to respond to Jim Raggi's statement that the OSR is greater than TSR. Remember how I complained awhile back that the OSR movement was becoming the victim of divisiveness and dogmatic declarations? ...yeah. That whole mess was a prime example

Pretty surprising turn of events... I like Rob, he is also registered at the Comeback Inn forum. Havard

Jim Raggi's statement that the OSR is greater than TSR Wow. I've seen some back-and-forth about the whole "OSR is evil" thing, but I hadn't bothered to track down Raggi's statement. That viewpoint is just plain crazy. How can any "revival" movement be better than the original? Isn't that like saying that Taylor Hicks does a better Elvis than Elvis? Absurd. When I think about the "good old days" I think of three key companies (in no particular order): * Avalon Hill * SPI * TSR TSR may have lost focus somewhere in the mid-to-late 1980's, but in the 1970's they were genius. Consider this list of games put out by TSR by the end of '76 or so: * Dungeons & Dragons * Boot Hill * Metamorphosis Alpha * Warriors of Mars * Empire of the Petal Throne And don't forget "lesser" products like Tractics, Star Probe and Star Empries, Panzer Warfare, Classic Warfare, Trocolor, Cavaliers & Roundheads, Valley Forge, DGUTS, Chainmail, Swords & Spells, and so many more. These were all well researched and well put together games! Can any game company (new or otherwise) other than Avalon Hill and SPI (both wargame companies) come up with a list as magnificent and impressive as that? Can anyone come close?

@ Fin: Not to mention DRAGON, Little Wars and DUNGEON 'zines; and I had a particular fondness for Dark Sun (though ill-timed with TSR's impending fall; but it is now re-released under 4E), and of course the artists (Tramp and Otus anyone? just to name two stellars). And the list goes on with Tom Wham's games (and my own, one of which from Dragon 77 is remade and wins an Origins Award), and so forth and so on down the list of Holmes, Mentzer, Jaquays, Carr (Fight in the Skies, the longest running game at GENCON to date), and so forth, ad ifinitum. The whole point is moot, now. It was not, IMO, a "'storm" in the classical sense of many internet "'storms", but a rebuttal, fair and square; and I have no intent to bring any of it here beyond what I now add to point to the facts. Time to create and play again. Serious.

Hey, Grodog! Your bibliography is a lot better than mine. I just looked on my shelf but you and Rob have done actual research! Have an EXALT for your Greyhawk website, by the way.

I believe Fin was listing published works? Compared to some on Gro's list which are not published. The non-published list is sorely in need of updating due to my auctioned materials and newly published matter, but I don't see the value in doing so compared to spending time writing/designing. Cheers!
