I just got my Boxed set of this game yesterday. I ordered it aver a month ago, knowing it would take time to get in, and was not disappointed. Not only did they not forget about me, it arrived within 3 days of being notified of it shipping.
The quality is outstanding and it was very well packaged. Kudos.
What really blew me away was the personal, handwritten note thanking me for my purchase and inviting me to share my experiences with the system. Truly outstanding in my book.
So a big thumbs up and huge hug to this company and I will be keeping an eye on them for future releases.
Now if I can just get a regular group together I will get a chance to play it. Ha ha ;D

Welcome!
When you run your first games with the system let us know what happens!
North Wind is a great small company and very responsive. I'm sure the kudos will be welcomed.
What encouraged you to try ASSH?
Thanks
Morgan

My copy arrived today. It's a very nice package, and I look forward to digging into it after work tonight. This is definitely one of the most impressively professional products to come out of the OSR. The dice were a nice surprise too.

To echo and expand on what's been said above:
I ordered a boxed set in October, knowing it would be a month or so to ship. I received it the day before Thanksgiving, one day after receiving shipping notification. Perfect timing for holiday perusal. It was very well packaged. I think the quality doesn't just stand out among OSR products; it exceeds that of many products from major publishers past and present.
The handwritten note from Jeff (aka Ghul, correct?) impressed me more than I would have expected. It very much expressed his genuine enthusiasm for the game and appreciation of the customer. While AS&SH clearly draws on an AD&D heritage, whereas my preferences tend to OD&D, Holmes, and Moldvay, I'm pretty confident this is the best presentation I have seen of a game inspired by the original rules for fantastic medieval wargames campaigns. From the physical format to the organization and layout, it's well done, clear, and attractive. So far this is based on a semi-thorough read of volume I and a quick skim of volumes II through VI. I'm back at the beginning for a thorough cover-to-cover, and another thing that stands out so far is much better copy editing than what sadly seems to be standard in the industry.
I'm usually not a fan of art in game books, but the art in AS&SH does a good job of establishing atmosphere and illustrating the unfamiliar, to the extent that I don't begrudge its presence and actually enjoy some pieces. (That's about as glowing of praise as I give for art in game books, so consider that five stars.) Kudos due to Charles Lang and James Kramer for the eye-grabbing box cover, but especially to Ian Baggley for the wealth of thematically consistent interior pieces.
All around, just an exceptionally good product.

Hello GB,
I'm thrilled to hear your positive reaction to the game, and that the service was not terrible. Your too kind words are inspiring to me. Truly, I do appreciate your kindness, taking the time to express yourself here at ODD74. It makes me feel good about what we are doing with AS&SH. Thanks!
Cheers, Jeff T.

I ordered a copy at the first of the month and received it a few days ago, in plenty of time for Christmas. This is a great product and customer service was just as great. Thanks Jeff!
