Hi Bestialwarlust, The method I described for combat that scales up should be relatively straight forward to apply. I think the essence of it is something like this: * Replace all attack matrices with d20 + Target AC >= 20 hit hit. (No advancement for PCs and monsters). * Add one additional attack roll per round for every odd HD attained (monsters with fewer than 1 HD attack at -2). * All damage is 1-6 for every hit for all PCs and monsters. The optional advanced stuff can be added (or not) as desired : * If a monster (or a PC wielding two weapons) has multiple attack modes, such as claw and a sting, the primary attack mode strikes on an even-numbered roll, and the secondary attack mode strikes on an odd-numbered attack roll (relevant if one attack type were poisoned and the other not, or a PC carried a magic sword in one hand and a dagger in the other, for example). * Where monsters have a special attacks (e.g., a purple worm's ability to swallow whole) determine how many "hits" are required to trigger the special attack. E.g., a purple worm has 15 HD, and thus 8 attacks, if any 3 or more rolls are successful against a single man-sized opponent he is swallow whole. * Where PCs (or monsters) have pluses to hit or additional damage due to magical weapons or spell-like effects, these are only applied once per round. FYI -- I'm planning to use this method for the next main adventure in my Hinterlands game on these boards. You'll be able to check it out in action with a group of 2nd to 4th level PCs. I'm also planning to write it up more formally and make it generally available as part of one of my DD supplements... but that might be a while yet. Hope all this is helpful ! p.s. my monicker is "Ways of the earth"

Very cool thanks! I might experiment with that when I start a DD game.
