I am trying to use only DD but I am wondering about movement and how armor affects it if at all? Also at what point are you carrying too much?
Thanks for putting up with the 1000 questions routine guys!

Book 2 page 18 has move as 6" for encumbered. Page 12 of the same book talks about movement. No idea where "too much" is. Probably up to DM

I'm at work, so I cannot exhaustively research the text, but it looks as if the movement rate chart didn't make the final text.
Here is a quick rule of thumb until I can get home and look at the drafts I submitted for publication:
Base movement rates:
Up to75 pounds: 12" 76 to 100 pounds: 9" 101 to 150 pounds: 6" 151 to 300 pounds: 3" 301 and higher: no movement possible
Encumbrance calculation includes armor, weapons, and equipment. Under normal circumstances, normal clothing items (tunic, breeches, etc.) are not counted toward encumbrance.
In order to speed game-play and avoid tedious bookkeeping, I generally figure armor weight plus 80 pounds of gear as the PC's base encumbrance weight.

Cameron's figures match those in Men & Magic, page 15.
Delving Deeper has a "Weight Allowed" in the strength table on page 8, Book 1. It's in lbs, and the higher strengths can carrying up to 100 lb. My assumption was that this was the amount of weight you could carry (including armor) before you were encumbered. But other than book 2, page 18, I don't see any indication of encumbered movement rates.

Zenopus, check out the mercenary movement rates in Volume I.
And you're likely correct ... Simon probably intended STR to modify allowable weight with regard to movement.
I'm currently at work. I'll try and post the draft version movement table when I get home and can access those docs. Or, Simon will chime in with the final "official" versions when he wakes up down under.

Forgive this bump but I also had a question:
By the book, it appears as though a mighty, STR 18 Fighter, wearing Plate, a Helm and a shield could not use a sword without being encumbered. Ok makes sense but the movement (going off the mercenary movement table) of an armored footman is 9" but the table Cameron posted states 101-150 = 6" Movement. That doesn't even include 30 lbs or so for misc. gear.
At the risk of complicating things, I might break carrying capacity by STR so as to allow the stronger characters more capacity. Not a bunch but at bit more.

I think these issues may all be resolved with the final version of the Reference Rules PDFs (which will be available shortly).
The Strength table (Vol 1, p10) has been updated to include the encumbrance limits and corresponding movement rates (for Men). It looks approximately like this:
Strength....12"...9"...6"...3" ------------------------------ ..3-6........50...75..100..150 ..7-14.......75..100..150..225 .15-18......100..150..200..300
The numbers are pounds of gear that can be carried.
