Although we haven't yet put KS #2 to bed yet, it's time to call for articles for KS#3!
Anyone interested in writing an article for the third issue, please let me know at mythmere at yahoo dot com.
We aren't working with a theme of any kind, so any topic is fair game. In particular, we are looking for: 1) Adventures 2) Convention reports 3) Articles offering a gaming interpretation of unusual or historical cultures, practices, or strange events 4) Any good and well written accounts of gaming "back in the day" 5) House rules for fairly specific aspects of the game 6) Magic items, spells, artifacts, or monsters
We cover the retro-clone versions of the underlying OOP games, so your stats (if any) and the names of monsters, etc., will remain as written.
The following game systems are covered by the magazine: 0e, 1e, OSRIC, Swords & Wizardry, Labyrinth Lord, BFRPG, ASSH. 0e and 1e materials will also be designated as compatible with S&W or OSRIC respectively. At this time, we're not covering sci-fi games or other genres besides fantasy.
Authors keep the copyright to their material, granting us the right to print the article in the magazine or in a "best of" or collected edition, and to update these to a new file format if something other than pdf becomes the standard.
This is an unpaid gig, but the prestige is similar to conquering Europe and becoming king of everything. ;D

I've come to the realization that release day for either Knockspell or Fight On! is a time of mixed emotions. The new magazine is out! (Good thing). The vacation is over and it's time to get to work on another article (Bad Thing). So feel free to keep dodging the deadline question until inspiration hits...

Second question - what about spellcraft and swordplay, orignal EPT and when it is finally published, Perilous Mazes?

ASSH is "Astonishing Swordsmen and Sorcerers of Hyperboria," a game (not released yet) by Jeff Talanian and Matthew Stanham. As to the others, I don't yet have permission to make a direct reference to their trademarks. That's one drawback of using the OGL, and I need to pursue some permissions, but I haven't yet.

Hello aldarron, Yes, what Matt says is true. We were shooting for a new adventure to be placed in Knockspell #3, but real life intruded upon the deadline, so I'm going to get it in early for KS #4. Meantime, I am sending a different piece to the FO! crew for consideration. This is an exciting time to be a part of the traditional gaming community! Cheers, Jeff T.
