In this video I answer the question, "Has the controversy surrounding Carcosa had any influence on the subsequent writing you have done, or did it have a chilling effect on your work?" link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hucgj3QdpAQ In this one-and-a-half minute video I answer the question, "Have you read any criticisms of the rape and other controversial parts of Carcosa that you felt were interesting or valid?" link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsJo4Ht9ITg ;D

Not bad, although I thought it was going to be this:
Interviewer "Has the controversy surrounding Carcosa had any influence on the subsequent writing you have done, or did it have a chilling effect on your work?" You "No, none at all." The End

I was hoping he'd ask my other question, which was: "Have you read any criticisms of the rape and other controversial parts of Carcosa that you felt were interesting, valid, etc. (As opposed to shrill, knee-jerk, etc.)" I guess I can just ask you that here? I loved the book, by the way. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, because gonzo scifi isn't really my thing. I have the first of what I think till be several posts about the book on my blog.

I'll let you know when I know. And thank you very much for your to-be-continued review. I'm glad I achieved my aim of making Carcosa "both dense and terse".

That is something I highly respect: the creation of something uniquely personal, and without compromise by whinny people who find it offensive. If someone find a game, book or movie offensive, just don't play, read or watch it! Simple as that! Those who object to sex, violence and sorcery over religious grounds, have major issues with irony they are completely oblivious to. That is also why I find criticism over the content over F.A.T.A.L. to be silly. Yeah, the rules where beyond chunky to the point of being unplayable, lots of useless/redundant charts/tables, the witter was obsessive and immature, and the game went above and beyond to express a would of shameless and excessive debauchery, violence and racialism. And yes, the game could have been better, if done with more taste and tact, but when you have a game that called" Fantasy Adventure To Adult Lechery" and advertises itself as a "brutally realistic version of medieval fantasy", then you're not going to expect something what would sit with everyone. Yeah, some guy made a game that felt like it was written by a horny 13-year old boy, but I have no issue with that. Not at all. Hell, some of my best off-beat Gamma World adventures played-out like a doped-up 13-year old was at the helm! Now don't get me wrong, I'm not comparing Carcosa to F.A.T.A.L. -- I'm just comparing the issue.
