The idea was brought up here:
odd74.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=carcosa&action=display&thread=7220I wanted to start this in a new thread so that the Map thread can stick to just map and does not deviate too far off track.
The intent here is to have a group project where the community works together to flesh out sections of the the Carcosa map, one 10-mile hex at a time. The sub sections can be written up to turn each hex into it's own gaming module of sorts.
Crusssdaddy has suggested we start with hex 0702 (in the middle of The Bottomless Lochs)
Javaapp has the Small Hex Generator in the works also.
My thoughts in the other thread:
"We should have a group project.
* Have a map detailed on a group selected hex from the main map.
* Have members of the community select a subhex (or two or three) each to do a write up. Can be simple NPC or monster encounters, villages, keeps/castles or dungeon, etc..
* When all sub-hexes are submitted, we alter the map slightly to have a map icon that reflects the nature of the encounter (optional)"
EDIT: Here is a temporary map of HEX 0702. Only thing in it so far is a rough outline of the lakes.
The original map is from Judges Guild
www.judgesguild.org/downloads/Blank%20Hex%20Sheets.pdf (Thanks to Javaapp for providing the link ;D )
This is here to allow people wanting to participate, to choose a sub-hex (or multiple if you wish) to get started.
