"Who's next? Let's not drag this out all afternoon." Breath asks, brandishing her daggar and slashing at the first one to get close.

Fated sticks his sword point-down into the ground and leans on it to strike a saucy pose.
"Think you can hit me? I'll give the next young lady who wants to try first shot."
Fated cedes initiative to the next attacker and will return with a sword slash once attacked.

Shade peers from the cave and spies a multicolored crustacean with five eyes and 4 mouths bathing in the pool. Neither side is surprised and Shade has the initiative. Shade quietly retreats back into the cave, not wanting to pick a fight. There, he will pick up The Shadow's two femurs (the two longest bones in the human body!) and wield them as clubs, should the crustacean try to enter the cave.

Shade quietly retreats back into the cave, not wanting to pick a fight. There, he will pick up The Shadow's two femurs (the two longest bones in the human body!) and wield them as clubs, should the crustacean try to enter the cave. The crustacean investigates the intruder in its lair. Shade wallops it with the femur bones like maces (19, 13), striking with each for (2d8) 8hp damage! The spawn of Shub-Niggurath that plagued his nightmares is slain! The crustacean's shell is split, and the waterfall sweeps it away. Shade casually discards the bones; symbolizing his humanity, lost forever. Having vanquished his inner demon, Shade snaps out of his "standing 8" and may rejoin the real-world battle on the following round. Shade may now extrude a chitinous material, equal in size/mass up to 2 human femurs, forming bones/teeth/claws/plates/studs as you wish.

Breath slashes with her dagger (9, 5), giving one of the thugs a nasty cut on his hand. But her attack against a second thug goes wide, and his counterstrike (11) stings her for 6hp reducing her to 2hp. Will she submit or fight on to the death?
Fated's attacker strikes well (11). However, at the last minute, Fated parries the blow! His confident counterstrike (18) embarrasses the young green man. 20 of the gang remain in the fight.

Seeing Breath's serious wound, Minion thinks quickly. He speaks up to Clubber Green. "Enough of this piddling nonsense. We should be talking business, not playing games! Do you and your green crew like to make money?"

Fated spits casually and regards his nails as he awaits the results of Minion's gambit.

Just in case, can The Shade get a HP roll for this encounter, Mush?
The Shade makes no move, content with allowing the green gang to think he is still unconscious for the time being. But he remains ready to move at a moment's notice.

Do you and your green crew like to make money?" "Aha, so you want to make things interesting!" says [green]Clubber Green[/green]. "Shall we say 100sp to the victor?" He nods to his men, who get ready to rumble. "Or did you have something else in mind?" Just in case, can The Shade get a HP roll for this encounter, Mush? Shade's back up to 6hp now that the effects of the mental blast have ended.

Breath steps back and lowers her daggar, but does not yet drop it. She figures this will look better from the point of view of Minion's negotiations, which she desperately hopes got through as she can't last much longer against this big gang. At least we now know Clubber Green is honest and keeps his word, so he is not likely to go back on any arrangement we may make. If the fighting resumes, she will 'drop out'.

"I had something in mind where we both get what we want. And something far more lucrative than a measly hundred silver for you, Mister Green. If you'd like to hear more, come join me and my associates on the porch for a few minutes. There'll be no need for your troops, not yet, but they're welcome to wander about the street while we talk, if they wish."

Psionic Clubber Green communicates:
[green]If you want to earn my men's respect, you've got to take a few punches, dish out some black eyes and busted noses, and then we'll negotiate over a cold pint of cider--that's how we do business on Hill Street! [/green]
Two older, pot-bellied gangsters step forward to grapple with Minion and Fated. Their backs are turned to the playing-possum Shade.
Clubber indicates his spurting chest-wound as a token of respect to Breath's martial prowess.
[green]What do you think, Bone Woman? Can we do business? [/green]

Breath cleans her daggar and resheaths it, joining Clubber Green on the side. She wants to show him that she will abide by her side of any bargain as well.
"Certainly, you've got a very disciplined gang," she replies verbally, "I am known as Breath of New Moon".

Fated lets his sword drop then gallantly holds out his hand to the gangster in front of him: "Let's shake -- may the best man win!"
If the gangster goes to shake hands, Fated kicks him squarely in the nuts and follows with a headbutt.

The Shade points at Clubber Green and communicates to all...
**No more cheap shot mind tricks, green man.**
The Shade completely pulls back his cowl, revealing a face that would almost pass for normal, had it not a third eye in the middle of its forehead. The Shade opens his mouth slightly, revealing slender pointed teeth.
**Who wants a shot at blackening my eye? No weapons, no armour, no mind tricks... just one champion against another.**
He pointedly looks for the largest of the gang's minions and stares him down.

Minion nods at the pot-bellied green gangster across from him, puts his weapon away, then attacks with translucent fists of fury!

Fated's (18, 12) flattens 2 green men with his treacherous low-blow/headbutt combo. 18 remain.
Minion tries his hand at boxing (14) and breaks a thug's nose with a solid haymaker punch. 17 remain.
"This should be interesting," says [green]Clubber[/green] to Breath as his gigantic Number Two squares off against Shade.
Shade (15, 13) lands the one-two combo for (2d4) 6hp subdual damage.
Number Two (3,10) is disoriented and misses his first punch, but staggers and head-butts him in the 3rd eye for 3hp damage (Shade has 3hp remaining).
Then the [green]green men[/green] pile on! It takes six men (7, 10, 3, 4, 5, 20!; 1d6 damage = 4) to bring down Minion and six men (18, 11, 5, 3, 5, 5; damage 1d4=2, 1d4=4) to wound Fated down to 13hp remaining!
The remaining green men hold back, respectfully giving Shade and Number Two space for their duel.
Shade and Fated remain in the fist-fight (unless they choose to submit) vs. Number Two and 16 nameless goons. Minion is helped to the sidelines by [green]Vina[/green], a young green woman in a Miskatonic University sweatshirt, who clearly has never seen a Bone Man with a black eye before.
A crowd of Arkham natives has gathered to enjoy the spectacle, cheering on their favorites. Breath gets a few good-natured fanny-slaps and fist-bumps for her blow to [green]Clubber[/green].

Fated hawks a loogie on his open hand and then delivers a slap with it to the nearest pup, followed by a spinning backhand pimp-smack to the next whippersnapper in line.

Fated hawks a loogie on his open hand and then delivers a slap with it to the nearest pup, followed by a spinning backhand pimp-smack to the next whippersnapper in line. Fated (4, 11) misses with the loogie but hits with the backhand smack for (1d4) 1hp damage. The whippersnapper is not amused (2) but can't do anything about it.. More [green]gang members[/green] punch and kick (14, 4, 7, 7, 20, 4) connecting twice for (d8, d4) 2hp damage. Fated survives another round, reduced to 11hp.

Shade (10, 4) connects a glancing blow with Number Two for 3hp damage.
The big guy fights on (15, 18) and locks Shade in a mighty bearhug!
Meanwhile Fated (5, 7) is starting to tire and cannot mount an effective attack. The green ones sense his weakness and pile on (3, 6, 5, 14, 1, 1) for 3hp, reducing Fated to 10hp!
Number Two squeezes Shade for (2d10) 7hp, and it's lights out for the three-eyed sorcerer!
Remaining are Fated (at 10hp), 16 goons (I think up to 6 can attack simultaneously), and a wounded Number Two!

Fated holds out a hand at the rabble: "Stand for a moment, pups. Let the grown-ups play."
He beckons #2 to attack -- Fated holds his first attack to use as a parry, will counter with a patented Capt. Kirk double-axe-handle chop to the dome.

Fated parries #2's predictable take down attempt (rolls a 6, would have missed anyway) and counters with a Miss Piggy style karate-CHOP (11) for (1d10) 6hp damage.
Down goes the burly green man! Fated stands victorious!
[green]***ENOUGH!***[/green] communicates [green]Clubber Green[/green], calling off his remaining thugs.
There is a moment of tense silence. Then he bellows a hearty laugh!
[green]*Welcome to the neighborhood! Cookout at my place! Let's get drunk and talk business!!*[/green]
He passes a jug of strong moonshine that quickly revives the PC's who took non-lethal damage.

[green]Clubber[/green] invites you to his house further down Hill Street, where he throws quite a cookout! There is a big boiling cauldron of lobsters, clams, and other crustaceans, and lots and lots of hard cider. Your last night before shipping out is festive indeed!
[green]Clubber[/green]'s main concerns are:
1. He found out about your sloppy work down by the beaver pond this morning. He doesn't want any attention on the neighborhood from Deep Ones or other nasties, and so he urges you to be more discrete when conducting your "business" in the future.
2. The neighborhood children have frolicked in the orchards and brook for generations. He wants your assurances they won't be shot as trespassers.

The Shade questions what he means by "sloppy".
And then he adds...
**So... eating the children is out of the question, then?**

And then he adds... **So... eating the children is out of the question, then?** ;D One of [green]Clubber[/green]'s spies reported that you killed a green woman this morning; that is unacceptable to him. Also he heard rumors that Deep Ones were snooping around the past couple of days; the neighborhood really doesn't need that kind of attention!

"So long as the little kiddies don't trespass into our house, it should not be a problem." Breath assures Clubber. "And the same goes for any Green Women. We must have the right to protect our house."

Clubber: [green]If you had harmed one of our own, believe me, we wouldn't be having this friendly chat. Your intruder this morning was a stranger to us. Even so, I cannot sanction lethal force against Greens in my territory; so next time, capture them alive so I can probe their minds. Speaking of which, did you take any prisoners this morning?[/green]
