A friend of mine runs a bookstore and sends out a newsletter. One entry in it was for this: Songs of the Dying Earth, George R. R. Martin & Gardner Dozois - Editors, $15.99.
An anthology prepared in tribute to the career of Jack Vance features original tales inspired by The Dying Earth and includes contributions by Neail Gaiman, Tanith Lee and Robert Silverberg.I don't know much about it. Seems like a paperback (trade paper size?) will be released on December 20, but I guess it's been out in hardback for awhile. Here's a link: www.amazon.com/Songs-Dying-Earth-George-Martin/dp/0765331098/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1323140134&sr=1-2

Hi Finarvyn!
I'm a fan of Jack Vance so I bought a copy of this anthology and finished it just a few days ago. It has 23 novels (or 22 novels and 1 novella) using the Dying Earth.
While no author is a perfect match to Vance and some prefer to write in their own style (which I find a better apprach), Songs of the Dying Earth has excellent short stories. If you like the setting, then this is definitelly a must buy. The ones by R. R. Martin, Tanith Lee, Vandermeer, Hughes and Simmons are my favorite (the last one being the novella).

I have the Hardback and it's fantastic, I would really recommend it!

It's a little uneven, definitely nowhere as good as Vance, but it does have some high spots worth buying the book for such as the GRRM story and the novella.
