So far so good, although I have to admit I'm still not sure how I'll end up running combat when it comes up.
I'm not sure how the posting is working out. To be honest I think I could probably post a bit more through the week, any thoughts on that? The pacing feels a bit off, but I wouldn't want to frustrate anyone who wouldn't be able to post more than twice weekly.

Although I'm fine with the current pace, I could handle more. For timing, I'd say posting any day but Saturday suits. Weekends have been pretty hectic lately.

C'mon, where is everyone? Roger's in the bushes while the giant is being confronted.

I hope that's not the end of the conversation. Did we have more than one pc out there? I'd hoped we were going to learn something of the road ahead, any dangers or rumors. And had hoped we might have the opportunity for trade, or to make an ally.

Anybody other than Baron interested in continuing? I could hunt down some more players if some of you just don't have time/interest for the game anymore.

Seems to me that we're not investigating, exploring or interacting much. We keep passing up encounters. Aren't we potentially missing out on a lot? I wouldn't do a dungeon crawl like this...

Sorry - I was probably not clear enough. I'm interested in scoping out the beeping, but not fighting something for no gain.

Ok - hope that clears things up. I am a bit of a wuss, having only 12 hit points.

Well I'm trying to run this more as a sandbox, so what you do determines what happens. No real absolute hooks that you'd miss out on. I thought about running this as a dungeon crawl in the lower levels, or something more adventure-y, but from the rules and the articles by Ward it seems like this was always intended to be a sandbox. If you guys would prefer something more straightforward and less open ended let me know. Might have to skip a few sessions while I work something up, but it can be done.

Hopefully everyone is enjoying their holidays. I will be traveling next week, but I'll be able to check the forum so when you gents are ready to get back to it feel free to post away.

Wow, it's been a while. I recall that I saw your post, Capheind, way back when, and thought I'd give someone else a chance to reply first. Never quite realized what the hold-up was, and let it go. Thanks for the nudge; just posted IC and hope the others will bring this game back up to speed!

Oh ho! What will our intrepid adventurer do now? I say it's the tree that got the prior fruit-harvester...

OK, well Roger has no idea that there's any Jedi mind-tricks going on. Far as he can tell, Poke is standing at the foot of the bridge. Until he gives a signal or something, or it gets to be lunch time, Roger is content to wait.

Quote: Coming down isn't quite as easy, the +2 penalty and roll of 10 result in a 12, going over your score of 11. Roger falls from the tree taking 1d6 damage, 3pts, rogers maximum damage is 27. Having taken 10pts of damage in the combat with the robots, recovering 2pts through rest, and taking the current three pts.
Hi there. If you check the chargen thread, Roger has 38 hit points maximum. So, 38-10+2-3=27.
Oh, so maybe I misunderstood you then -- Roger's *current* hit points are 27. Got it.

Exactly, I've been erasing and rewriting them on the sheet I have handy, but I thought I'd explain what and why in case you saw something in the rules that contradicts any of my own math. Your currently at 27.

Still enjoying this, I just haven't posted this week as much as I'd like due to school and this being my birthday weekend. Incidentally I'm finding "The House on the Hill" handy for quickly generating Round Houses. I think I'm going to hit up some resources on hex crawls as I don't think I've made this one as compelling as it could have been for you gents.
One thing I'm really getting from the rule book is a style of play which focuses on random encounter style hex crawls, broken up by roundhouses, and sub-level dungeon crawls. Overall I'm digging this older style of play, but realizing why most folks use mutant future to actually run these sorts of games. I really hope that the new version of MA coming out eschews the "alien asteroid collision" scenario for the open ended style of the first edition, but retains rules for playing robots.

I'm fine with the game, although I'd like it to move faster. Unfortunately I don't get alerted on new posts. I'm going to remove my bookmarks, then re-bookmark them. Maybe that will help.

Well I've put octavia on redshirt status, meaning next time there is any sort of a fight she'll probably die since her player isn't posting anymore.

Sorry, I just started a new job and am taking a short hiatus from school until I can afford to go back. This does mean more reliable gaming hours though, just not last weekend. No worries, hope everything goes OK.
