The only problem with a thread like this is that it becomes really obsolete in a hurry.

Hey! I was already watching most of those, and hoping to snatch some of them up for cheap! Now I have to compete against you guys? Just kidding, it’s cool.

I don't even want any of those auctions, Falconer, but maybe I'll bid just to run up the price. Kidding.

The only problem with a thread like this is that it becomes really obsolete in a hurry. I am actually going to try to update it every 2-3 days at least for a while. I have my stuff and I know not everyone else does. A few items look like they might go pretty cheap.

The Arduin trilogy sounds like something I'd be interested in but the quality of that listing uses the word 'soiled' too many times.

Given the bat-s#!t crazy bidding on ebay I wouldn't be surprised if that soiled set of booklets goes for 100 USD or more. Ya know, it really grinds my gears that there aren't any PDFs available. All the reverent chatter about the late Hargrave has made me really want to find out more about Arduin. He sounded like a wild -- and innovative -- referee/game designer. Shame he passed so young. Makes a person wonder what he could have come up with had he lived at least into his 60s...

If he would have had an editor and a bit of financing to publish the books, they would have been more readable and therefore more usable. Although when I was 30 years younger I didn't have any trouble reading them. I am with you, I wish there were pdfs of all of the Arduin books and I am sure there probably are someplace.

Okay, not to make anybody feel bad, but my good friend Nix found the following at Half-Price Books here in Madison: - Eldritch Wizardry - last production run
- Blackmoor - 2 copies
- Greyhawk
- Chainmail 3rd Ed.
- Swords & Spells
- Mentzer Companion rules booklets
All for $10 each. It was...remarkable.

This is a good idea for a thread. They have a similar one on the Acaeum called "Interesting Items on Ebay". It sometimes generates interesting discussion, and can highlight items that some people are interested but others are not aware of. It might be useful to make the thread a sticky. Thanks! It had occurred to me all the times I saw someone say they wish they had this or that.

Seeing the low price on this and some other games, I wonder if the recession is making for some good buying opportunities. 3 hardcover AD&D 1e books in what look like mint shape for $38 is a really REALLY good deal.

Yeah, if you pay close attention, you can score some really, really good deals on ebay right now! I've recently picked up: Chaosium's Thieves World Box Set - $15.00 on a Buy It Now. I snatched it up, just after it was listed. Perfect contents, box in decent shape. Shipping was another $10, but at least it was Priority mail. 1e Lankhmar Supplement - $10 shipping included. Book was in average used condition. Map was perfect. First Fantasy Campaign: A d**n near perfect 3rd printing copy, for just under $30, and that includes shipping. A shrinkwrapped copy of the Avalon Hill printing of Snake Pipe Hollow. $7.00, shipping and all. If you're patient, you can get some awesome deals! Some things are still really hot and remain fairly high, though. I saw a City State, 3rd or 4th printing I think, go for over $60 earlier this evening. It looked to be in really, really nice condition, so I'm not surprised.

Quite a nice list, but I really want to find another copy of Chainmail. Mine needs to be replaced and is falling apart. Actually, I'd love a goldenrod cover Chainmail, but I doubt I can afford one of those.

Still in the shrink wrap! Not to sound all curmudgeonly and wet-blankety, but it is kinda sad that the buyer will probably never, ever open it.

Also, if anyone is interested here are the search terms that I use most often when searching for OD&D stuff:
1974 Underworld & Wilderness Adventures Arneson Fantastic Medieval Wargames Whitebox D&D od&d Vintage D&D (lots of 1st Edition and Holmes or B/X era hits) Original Dungeons and Dragons (very broad, lots of unrelated hits)
