Ok, so Caves of Qud isn't an official Gamma World game, but it certainly could be. It's the first roguelike I've played that really captures that classic GW vibe -- figuring out artifacts, wilderness survival, scavenging, factions/tribes, weird monsters, robots, and a very familiar mutation list. PC options are currently mutant human and True Man (Pure Strain Human), but apparently there are plans to include mutant animal and plant PCs in future versions. (Maybe we'll also learn in future releases that Qud is actually a level of the Warden?) Check it out...

Have to be honest. I LOVE GW, so right away I clicked on the link to check it out. However... I get nothing but a forum (?) that is less than intuitive to navigate. Where is the download? If someone wants to "hawk their wares" so to speak, then why bury it in a website?

You weren't rude, mate; though a bit of your frustration did peek through. No offense was offered, therefore none is accepted.
You're among friends, here. Pour yourself a beverage of choice and kick back a bit.

There is another GW roguelike called Alphaman. Its relatively new, being made in '96, but its still good. I just made an article at Video Game Geek.

Alphaman is relatively new? It's over 15 years old. It's a fun goofy-post apocalyptic roguelike that follows me from computer to computer. here's a site for it: hem.passagen.se/gbjor/Alphaman/The best advice I can offer a new player is to learn when and how to run away.

That's probably good advice for any new GW player, too... ...and it almost physically hurts me to think that '96 was 15 years ago.
