Forgive me if this has been asked before, I did a search and didn't find anything.
I don't suppose there's a Basic D&D character generator out here on the net anywhere, is there?
I've been using the 2E Core Rules software to crank out pre-gens for a 2E game I'm going to try to run at the North Texas RPG Con and I'd like to do the same for my RC game I'm planning. I've looked in all the usual places for a Basic D&D generator and have turned up nothing. Any ideas (aside from breaking out the dice and just going at it)?

I'd say just break out the dice.
Really, how hard can it be? It's nowhere near as complicated as 2e.

You just roll 3d6 six times in order and choose a class, right?

Here is one for Labyrinth Lord that has the added advantage of allowing you to generate one of any level (or random level) with magic items. LL is considered a good clone of the B/X BD&D. truculent.org/llchar/

You just roll 3d6 six times in order and choose a class, right? 3d6 6x in order for the 6 ability scores 3d6 x10 for Coin in gold pcs Choose class, race, alignment, name, and purchase equipment. Other stats are given after the above choices are made. Some further choices are dependent on the above too, like starting known spells, etc. Then work with other players or alone and write up your background.
