Okay; glad to hear that you've got the book now! For your criminal character, I probably would've gone more for the "bruiser" type with his high MS score; but that is of course, your call!
Okay; now I'm just waiting on my buddy to join up on this site and get his characters created...I saw him this past weekend, so I know he's up for it....I'll give him a call tonight and see how he's coming along!
After that, we can get started!

Greetings all. So Max finally got me to sign up and get started here. I'm currently at home watching my kid, so I have limited time right now. I'll roll up some guys and post them soon. Looking forward to busting some stills and stealing some women.

I present, for your viewing pleasure, three new residents of Lakefront city:
Johnny "Rocky" Rocco 5'0" 120lb Dark hair, well dressed, charming, a thoroughly made man. Rocky is a small man with a large presence. A little napoleon complex drives him to prove himself time and time again. Rocky's girl Alice is a newcomer to the city, but is clearly devoted to her man and packs a vindictive streak.
MS: 29 AG: 91 OB: 79 PR: 8 Luck: 45 DR: 85 PS: 2 HP 17 Public Speaking: 94
Orrie Cather 6'0" 170lb Light hair, extremely charming, all american kind of guy. Orrie is a bright, capable, good-looking agent who just can't seem to catch a break. He always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, to the detriment of his career. Orrie's ex partner Saul moved to NY a few years ago, and is doing quite well for himself there. Orrie saved Saul's life twice before.
MS: 44 AG: 92 OB: 85 PR: 10 Luck: 3 DR: 89 PS: 3 HP 19 Stealth: 90
Gustav "Gus" Babushka 6'4" 240lb Large bearded bear of a man, with a thick Russian accent. Gus came to the country two years ago from a promising electrician career in St. Petersburg, Russia. Upon arrival, he found jobs for a foreigner hard to come by. He has fallen into a basic security and private investigator role. Gus made a life long friend in Joesph, a revolutionary who he saved from a lengthy prison sentence.
MS: 95 AG: 77 OB: 64 PR: 8 Luck: 43 DR: 71 PS: 5 HP 23 Wiretapping: 99
So, yeah, I rolled some silly stats. I'm sure the dice will be just as unkind during play. Ask Max. In-game rolls are not my friend.
Let the roaring 20's live.

Yeah "Tink" definitely has a way of either making crazy good rolls or crazy bad ones.....ask him how his "enchantress" is doing on her "Charm Person" attempts in a AD&D game we're playing! Okay; so Mr. Tinkles has some good character ideas drawn up with the following as "replacements' for these characters, should the need arise: Rocco: Alice the gun moll Orrie: Saul, the Prohibition Agent Gus: Joseph, the Revolutionary For Chicago, we have: Fred: Fellow P.I. Richard Summers "Wheels": Criminal mechanic Duff Allanson Sal: "Rocky" Vecchio the boxer Allright, so now we just need Coffee's characters... Also, this weekend; I'll do a post giving a timeline and the major events/going-ons for my version of Lakefront city; circa September, 1927...

I'm having trouble with the names.
After getting good dice rolls, coming up with names is the hardest thing for me. Expect something tonight.
Sorry.

Okay, sorry about the break there....life got a bit crazy! Great characters from everybody, looking forward to seeing them all in action! I just sent a PM to Finarvyn asking about how/where to set up the threads for the game and then we'll get it going! Here's a quick primer for the game: I'm mostly using the GB1 material for the game "as is" with the following changes: The time: September 1st, 1927 Location: Lakefront City is in the very Southern edge of Wisconsin; on the west coast of Lake Michigan; and is home to just over a million people; making it quite a sizable city in the U.S.; not quite on the level of New York and Chicago; but not far behind. The City is divided into 3 major parts.... The East side (also known as the "Dock Side"); this is the portion of the city East of the River and on the coast of the Lake....comprised of the 1st-10th wards (parts of the 6th, 8th and 10th wards are on the other side of the River and thus considered "West Side").....this area is the "heart" of Lakefront City; comprised of many of the buisnesses; home to the relatively recent influx of Irish, Italian, and Eastern European immigrants and home to a fair bit of Gang activity; espeically since quite a bit of alchohol comes through here due to the docks. This is where most of the adventures will be taking place. Crime here is mostly either the Irish or the Italian gangs; with Patrick "Paddy" O'Connor and Sean Flynn running the two largest Irish gangs and Alfredo "Freddy" Tolino and Nicolo "Nicky the Knife" DeLuca running the Italian gangs. The West Side : On the opposite side of the Hamilton River; this is where the most prosperous of Lakefront City live and work. Comprised of the 28th, 18th, 17th, 16th, 19th and parts of the 10th, 6th and 8th wards. Crime here is low-level in effect; but under the absolute control of the most powerful gangster in Lakefront City; Richard "Richy" Van Horn; the black sheep of the extremely wealthy Van Horn family. His two major Lieutenants include Luigi "The Big Brain" Bertucci and Saul "The Hammer" Horowitz. Van Horn is frequently seen dining and socialized with the Mayor and the Chief of Police. The South Side: The largest part of the City; comprised of the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 27th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 26th, 24th and 25th wards: this section is also home to most of the middle-class inhabitants of Lakefront City and is composed of all manner of ethnicities. Crime here is frequent in places and practically non-existant in others. What organized crime exists here is under the control of a happy union between two very smart young mobsters: John "Johnny" Gray and Malachai "Mal" Silverman. Town Mayor: Robert "Big Bob" Johnson....very much in the pockets of gangsters and big-buisness; frequently seen with gangster Richard "Richy" Van Horn....otherwise, very much like his description in GB1 Gangsters: Patrick "Paddy" O'Connor is very much like "Deanie O'Connor" from GB1, except without the temper. Instead, he smilies a lot...but it's a cold, chilling smile. He's the ultimate boss of the starting Criminal Characters. "Fingers" O'Malley is basically unchanged. Alfredo "Freddy" Tolino is basically the same as "Big Al" Tolino from GB1 except that he's short and slight and so the nickname of "Big Al" Tolino is derogatory to him and tends to set him off. He HATES it when the papers call him that! Bureau of Prohibition: Mostly the same from GB1 except there is no Mario Antonelli; instead the District Commisioner is one Michael Anthony; corrupt and on the pay-roll of one Richy Van Horn. Van Horn has paid Anthony to target O'Connor in the East Side because Paddy won't take orders from a "spoiled rich kid". Agent Carl Beck will be the PCs immediate supervisor and he's honest and incorruptible and knows about his boss's connections and deliberately ignores them; telling the Players to go after violators of the Volstead Act wherever they find them. Okay.....there's a little to get started on. I think the first scenario I'll run will be with the Prohibition Agent characters. For starting equipment; you can all assume to have 50 bucks in your wallets; an apartment paid for thru the next month and a pistol of your choice with 2 full clips (or 12 rounds if a revolver) worth of ammo. Any questions/thoughts? -Max

Literally just hours ago I picked up a cheap used copy of GangBusters from my FLGS (1st Ed, Rule Book only). I have never read/played this game before, but I would be very interested in joining this PBP game once I get up to speed on the rules in a few days (I've only given them a cursory skim so far).

I couldn't help myself ;D, I went ahead and rolled up three characters!
Character 1 (FPB): Agent Andrew Neals
Andrew has political aspirations. He first tried lawschool but found that he couldn’t stand the monotony and instead applied to be a Prohibition Agent. He plans on making a name for himself, and using that popularity to work his way into a political office. (No one said he was very smart!). His sister, Betty Neals, is a reporter with a local paper.
Muscle: 78 Agility: 41 Observation: 91 Presence: 5 Driving: 66 Luck: 20 HP: 17 Punch: 4 Skills: Wiretapping: 92
Character 2 (Criminal): Brian McMurphy.
Brian just recently got into the crime game on the word of his cousin, Aaron McMurphy, who works as a runner for a local syndicate. He was previously working as a taxi driver.
Muscle: 45 Agility: 80 Observation: 89 Presence: 7 Driving: 85 Luck: 24 HP: 18 Punch: 3 Skills: Stealth: 47
Character 3 (Independant): Deloris “Del” Kennedy
Del loves hanging out at Speakeasies, and gets a thrill from rubbing shoulders with and talking to gangsters. She is currently in a developing relationship with a speakeasy bouncer, Roderick Tate.
Muscle: 43 Agility: 80 Observation: 71 Presence: 8 Driving: 76 Luck: 37 HP: 18 Punch: 3 Skills: Pickpocketing: 43

Hey Kipper; welcome aboard!
Your character concepts sound fine; and I think I know of a couple of ways to incorporate your Agent Neals character into the Play by Post game going on right now; let me think on it somemore and look for a message to be sent to your inbox later today.
The other characters look fine and should be pretty easy to incorporate into the game scenarios I've got planned. Let me know if you have any questions/issues.

Okay Kipper;
You're in....I've just posted the latest update and your character; Agent Neals is about to join the action. Feel free to make a post; but please note my little comment stating that for this round; Neals is entering the warehouse and taking in the scene...i.e. he won't be able to do anything just yet.
As for equipment and weapons; please consider yourself to have any pistol of your choice and 2 clips and/or 12 rounds of ammo if a revolver; for that weapon.
Any questions; please let me know!
