My friends, the demand for WhiteBox Boxed Sets has been far greater than I even imagined. At the current rate, the entire print run will be sold out shortly. Because of the expense of the materials as well as the large amount of time and effort it takes me to put together and ship these boxed sets, I cannot expand this print run. So I’ve decided to do two things: -First, we are working to get the single-volume versions of WB (free pdf, perfect-bound & hardcover) released as soon as possible. The free pdf will go up quickly, but it will take a few weeks to get our proof copies of the print versions before I can release them. -Second, we will have another print run of the WB Boxed Sets later in 2010. I cannot thank you enough for the orders. You have purchased a product, sight-unseen. I have worked very hard to make sure that these WB Boxed Sets will be great to game with and a cherished item to own. You won’t be disappointed. bravehalflingpublishing.com/?cat=23-John Adams (Coleston the Cavalier)

They are now Sold Out.
Which stinks for me, as I was waiting for payday.

Ugh! I've been in a conference all week and I've missed a lot of this White Box box stuff! Next time around, I guess.

Don't worry guys. There will be another print run in 2010. I'll probably be better at it by then too.

Ditto here. I was planning on ordering this week and just saw it is sold out. The irony is that I was planning on ordering several copies of my own game and didn't get my order in before they sold out. :-P

Wow, Marv, you're not getting a comp copy of it?

I bought two sets - one more than I actually need - after: - thinking "maybe I should just get another Necro Wilderlands box set instead of bugging the friend I lent it to" - being mindboggled to see it available only for $1200, with the CZ box set going for $600 - contemplating all the old-school stuff on my wish list I could buy now if I'd had the foresight to buy extra copies of those then
So: I am unabashedly as greedy as a dwarf with a pervered lust for paper instead of gold. However, I'd love to see my second copy of this one find a good home sooner rather than later: and since the point of letting it sit would just be to trade the extra value it appreciated over time for more old stuff, maybe we could skip the waiting and just swap now?
Right now the main things on my wish list are B10: Night's Dark Terror and Paul Jaquays' modules other than Dark Tower and Caverns of Thracia. However, I could well be forgetting something and am easily persuaded that there is something cool I must have, so go ahead and suggest anything! I should add that I'm neither a collector, a skilled printer, or an IP paladin: stuff like the MA 1E scan facsimile I got from Geoffrey or the Kellri encounter ref a friend printed and bound for me are right up my alley because 95% of why I like books over PDFs is their utility at the table.

Heavens, Marv's got a complementary copy coming to him, of course!
I know that this is disappointing, but I really had no idea how many might sell and certainly not this fast. I was also surprised at the number of people who bought multiple boxed sets even with a limit of three in place.
Sure, I could have just kept selling them, but with a day job, a family and all, I have to keep the number realistic for each print run.
I will be offering another run of WB Boxes in April and in November of this year.

Hey John, could you (or anyone, really) post a picture somewhere of what the box and the set actually look like?

Wow, Marv, you're not getting a comp copy of it? As John said, I will get a complementary copy. It’s the order for the rest of my group (and a play copy for myself) that I didn’t get to order before they were gone. Actually, John has been very nice about the whole thing – I didn’t get anything like this from the lulu publication of the WB set (and in fact have never even actually seen a copy). Hey John, could you (or anyone, really) post a picture somewhere of what the box and the set actually look like? John wants to keep the box cover a secret for the moment, but we posted pictures of the individual booklet covers in this thread if you are interested.

John, Fin, congratulations! That stuff is gorgeous! This kind of product takes the OSR to a whole new level, at least imo.
I'll order a second printing as soon as it's available...

Hey, I think your artwork alone sold me on the "Band Of Joyous Heroes" Tekumel skirmish rules (when they are available). We were all drooling over your previews at our last "Planet Algol" session. Nice art and design will close a "physical" product sale, for me. The whole look of White Box has pushed it into "art object" territory. It's like the vinyl gate-fold double album of the osr! I like nice paper stocks, a few quality illustrations, minimal colors, and absolutely NO ridiculous design "bling" around margins of every page in the rulebook (that just makes my eyes bleed). Publishers take note

Mark is quickly joining the ranks of the iconic old school D&D artists. And you should see his miniatures... I'm trying to learn by osmosis because this guy rocks socks.

Well, i'm speechless, you guys. I don't know what to say except "thank you" and that I really appreciate the nice comments. It makes me feel good to know that people enjoy my work. My contribution to WB really was minimal - the writers and the publisher did all the real work - i just helped to make the package look pretty. I very much enjoyed illustrating for it.
