Hey guys. I am truly sorry for the delay. I've worked hard over the last two years to build trust and confidence in BHP and this whole situation has caused me far too much stress and loss of sleep. I'm turning this thing into an opportunity
Of course, everything for the WB Boxed Sets have been on hand at BHP, waiting to be packed into boxes since the 20th of January - many days before the shipping date of February 1. But the folks I have a contract with to create the boxes did not come through for me in a timely manner, nor did they keep me fully informed about the progress (or lack of) on the production of my boxes. I gave them more time than I should have, because I wanted the situation to work and because they can produce very good game boxes. I was told two days ago that they were actually creating the boxes right then and that they should be done by today. I'm calling them one last time today, and if the order hasn't been completed, I'm canceling the contract and getting a full refund. But I sure hope they actually made them and didn't just string me along for the fourth week in a row.
But here is where the opportunity to bring some good out of this situation comes in:
The very reason I started BHP was because of my frustration with trying to work with publishers and how my material and ideas never seemed to fit what they wanted to do. In the last three weeks, I have had over a dozen box-making companies reject me out-right (because I wasn't going to order a minimum of 5,000 boxes) telling me that it isn't possible to do what I want to do, laugh at me on the phone or never actually give me the quote they promised me, made me mad - mad enough to learn how to make my own game boxes. You all want boxes? Trust me, you are going to get boxes! Once all the WB boxes ship out, I'll make more and have them on hand ready to ship as folks buy them when I put an unlimited number of them up for sale April! And I'll do more. I'll make generic, old-school boxes that folks can buy to put their other digest gaming material in. BHP is going to be you Old-School box headquarters!
So the bottom line is this - whether the boxes are on their way or not, we can now make our own boxes at BHP and if I have to take an entire week off of work to create them (I've got plenty of vacation time coming to me), these boxed sets will ship asap!
See what happens when folks poke the halfling or take him for granted? Evil empires and false gods fall."
