Right now I am trying to limit these as I can but it will come up, I know so...
Right now I am using the Ascending Armor Class, I have found this to be easy to keep track of.
I am also planning on using attribute +/- for AC, Spell saving throws etc...
IF anyone has a house rule that they have found expands the enjoyment of a nice SnW game and wants to suggest I look into it, please ask.
Thanks!!

The Shields shall be Splintered house rule is a nice addition, adding real value to shields and also encouraging the employment of shield bearers It is described on various blogs including this one.

I do like that one...let me ponder it and if anyone else would like to sound off about it, I would appreciate any other input. Way are you using that in your game here?

Way are you using that in your game here? I haven't been using it in my pbp game, but Makofan uses it in his pbp game here -- and it saved Gallaine when she was a 1st level fighter! Given that and some recent face to face gaming experience, I'll probably introduce it into my pbp game early next year.

With this houserule, you get the usual -1 to your AC with a shield. However, any time you take damage, you can opt instead to say your shield absorbed the force of the blow. The shield is shattered and must be discarded, but you don't take any damage from that hit. It's quick, it's easy, and it's valuable. Thanks to Way and to Trollsmyth for this! trollsmyth.blogspot.com/2008/05/shields-shall-be-splintered.html

I'll third the Shields rule, very nice touch.
I use it in my AD&D and OD&D games.

I feel that this might come up so I will get this outta the way. Fighting with two weapons gives you a +1 to hit, winning initiative does not matter for this rule, the character will always have a +1. There is no plus to damage or a second swing.

Are you using the STR gives you +1/-1 to-hit, damage houserule?
What languages are available?

I need to put up a languages thread just give me a bit to get it together but suffice it to say the standards are there of course. Hobbits do not have their own language...

Ok a few more of these gems right now....
On a natural 20 you hit and do max damage.
On a 1 I will place a tic next to that melee weapon, three ticks and the weapon is broken, magic weapons will be handled differently. Repair cost is 1/4 of the item's cost in the book, not what you may have bought it for.
Bows are going to be a bit different, on a 1 you have snapped the bowstring and I will roll again if it is another one, you actually have damaged the bow not the string. ((Still thinking about what a bowstring might cost, if anyone would like to chime in on this one I will take suggestions!))
Crossbows will be handled as melee weapons at this time...
Thanks to the Society of the Torch, Rope and Pole for this one!

Binding Wounds
Bind Wounds – Heal 1-3 hit points after each combat if 5 minutes spent. Can bind unconscious character’s wounds to revive (with 1 hp) after 5 minutes.

COOL FACTOR
IF you roll a natural 20 while making some type of "skill" check you can describe or ask for something "cool" to have happened. An example was a Natural 20 on a "acrobatics" check, the player asked if he could shoot his bow, I allowed him to go ahead and make an attack roll! He hit and killed his opponent and landed in a flourish. Very Cool.
