I had made a mistake above, which I have edited, Nemmet is carrying a torch not Laric.
As far as lanterns and oil, from the Character sheet thread:
Laric has a lantern and 2 pints of oil. Nigel has a lantern and 4 pints of oil. Fennick has a lantern and 2 pints of oil.
So, I suggest Nigel carry the lit lantern so Fennick and Liam have hands free for melee.

Is it better to have Kib use his darkvision/infravision/whatever or to use torch light?

I don't believe Nigel is with us. Verhaden dropped out before we even got started with the campaign. So I think that leaves us with 4 less pints of oil and one less lantern, unfortunately.

Is it better to have Kib use his darkvision/infravision/whatever or to use torch light? He'd have to be pretty far away from the rest of the party (at least 20' ahead, if not more) for the lantern/torch light to not mess up his infravision. At least that's how it has been played in every game I've run or been in...

So we're good on lantern oil, then!

Was a final marching order established along with who is bearing the torch?

Whoa, I missed a lot of posts in the last day or so! Erimus would have instructed Nemmet to had him his shield, and then to light a torch. He probably would have volunteered to either go first (after the Dwarf scout) or last in the marching order. Unless Fennick directs him upon some other "mission from God", of course

Marching order for down below...
Kib Galax Liam Nigel Fennick (Lantern) Laric Nemmet (Torch) Erimus
That is a single order, would a double order look something like this:
Kib Liam Galax Fennick (Lantern) Nigel Laric Nemmet (Torch) Erimus
Using the double order in 10' wide halls and the single in 5'?

Looks good to me. Kib may occasionally move ahead of the party to use his infravision, for now we should all stick together.

Fennick, if you have the ability to use a spear, my recommendation would be to get one, borrow one to use it. We can then increase the "frontal attack" to 4 men instead of two since spears can attack from the second rank.

As a cleric, I don't think Fennick is allowed to use a spear.
Right now I have Fennick holding the lantern in his right hand and shield in his left. We could position Fennick in front of Galax to have a one person shield wall if it makes sense to do so. However, Fennick actually has a worse AC than all the other fighters, unless he is given a bonus to AC for only defending - Ronin?
Edit: Added second paragraph.

Maybe he could use the handle end of the spear to punch at the enemy.

Did the Whitewood game come to a screeching halt for a reason? Are we waiting on anyone?

Did the Whitewood game come to a screeching halt for a reason? Are we waiting on anyone? IT came to a halt because I got busy with prepping for my sons game tonight! We were adding a new player and I needed to write him in, of course I was contacted by parents telling me that two other kids would not be making it today which meant some careful re-writing. I will pick back up with you guys tomorrow or tonight after their session, and dinner.

Cool man (I shut down on the weekends, sorry for the late reply) just checking - hope your son's game went well! Thanks Mike! It did we last left off in a bad spot most of the party hurt a green slime behind them and a very nasty group of hobgoblins holding the hostages from the raid of their village. Luckily we had a new player starting and he was hiding in the room next door and was able to join in at the right time while the pc who was an npc for this adventure took care of the slime with some fire. They made it out with the hostages, got the reward and some nice treasure as well. This was their third time playing with the old school rules and they do miss their healing surges!

When I was playing D&D, we had to walk uphill both ways in freezing cold with soft leather boots to obtain a stinking d8 healing potion and WE LIKED IT!!!) ;D ;D

Today's my second day in a row with no classes due to snow and freezing rain. Is everyone in Chicago calling this Snowpocalypse, you're the second Chicagoan I've heard call it that.
