May I request that we have a ruling on "quorum" so that one person doesn't drive the narrative? I think that's a good idea, and I hope you didn't feel that I was pushing it along without considering the other players. Because of the time difference I tend to post while you guys are all asleep, and then wake to read what everyone else has posted while I slept. So I try to post something rather general that might facilitate or play into whatever might happen next.

Yea I've run games with a few of your countrymen and I know I try and check right before I go to bed, local time 2200 US CST. I also try and check right before I go in the shower or as I'm having my bowl of cereal, 0500 CST.

I'm fine with quorum queries at the appropriate times.

Hello all, could I just get a not of what you are prepping and any other special conditions you are maintaining...
The last would be who is doing the tracking or both...

Kib will follow wherever the trackers lead and defend the party with his axe. He is a bit out of his element with above-ground ranger-type activities.

Fennick will also follow the tracker. He will stay towards the rear of the group to keep an eye behind the group. He has his shield on and his club gripped with his scimitar sheathed on his belt.

Laric will work as rear scout, checking to be sure no signs were missed and checking often that they are not followed.

Galax will always have spear and shield in hands. Galax will stay to the middle. He's paying close attention to what's beside him, worried about ambushes or traps.

My only concern was that if we were going to have a discussion on whether we go or not... and that Ronin might push us towards one idea versus waiting for a group decision. I've only been running my Wave game for a year, but in PbP's I've read/played in, if there wasn't some sort of group mechanism for expectations/moving forwards, some DMs will go with the squeakiest wheel or whoever posts first. That leads to some amount of chaos and back/forth or even people leaving because they never get a say. I'm not saying you're that way or Ronin's that way, just was a suggestion on how to avoid that issue.

I don't have an issue with anything that you suggested and I also know, like me, you have been gming for a long time so any suggestion is read just as that and with nothing else attached. The one thing that PbP does allow for especially with a sandbox type idea is that if your character really didn't feel this was a good idea and wanted to ignore something and just move on in their own direction I would do one of two things. 1) PM the player and see if we could work out the gentle nudge in the direction the rest of the party were going. 2) Ask for more time and open up a separate story thread for that/those players and eventually try and bring the party back together OR run a second separate story line. Which would be hard at the table BUT much easier in this fashion.

Liam will track, keeping a short distance ahead of the rest of the group, but never out of line of sight. He will have his bow at the ready.

In cases of combat, I will usually wait at least 12 hours before moving along...this means simply that if I as the GM have to have your character do something it will be something that seemed reasonable based upon how your character has been portrayed OR what would seem to be the most important for the character's survival... Just in case of course!

Erimus will march up-front, but behind the tracker/s.
In normal (dungeoneering) circumstances Erimus would carry sword and shield, and have Nemmet carry a torch behind him.
But having sword and shield at the ready may be impractical when hiking cross country. For this Erimus will have Nemmet lug his shield and helm.
If it will improve his pace any, Erimus wears his sword in its scabbard upon his back and carries a fallen branch or stick as a trekking pole. If needs be, he can trim one to serviceable shape with his handaxe. Otherwise, his sword could serve as a make shift trekking pole.

You can roll for Fennick. I assume that would keep things moving faster.

The battle scene was a bit rushed for me, normally I would add a lot more narrative BUT I was in such a hurry to get you guys moving again, you have my apologies.

Sorry guys, busy weekend...could someone summarize who is taking what watch for me?

Here's what I got out of it...
Watch: 1. Kib and Fennick 2. Nigel 3. Galax 4. Liam 5. Erimus
I think that's about it. Chicagowiz said Galax would take a late watch... I'm not sure exactly what that means - late in the night or late in the order?
C-wiz, if you want a different watch let me know and we can shuffle the order around a bit (Liam can take 3rd and Galax can take 4th).

Cool. Then that's what we'll go with (adding Laric to Shift #4, per the conversation in-game).

Ronin84, I liked your Berry Grove write up! I suppose Jorge Proudfoot is going to be a member of the Seekers...which suits me just fine. I'm not real clear on the character sheet I posted, I'm sure I got things wrong and I know I left things out. Help would be appreciated from any quarter. Ronin84, I think I need to wait on word from you, about Equipment, armor, and the gold to buy it. Eris

I will take a look at the sheet but today is going to be one of those bad days...might be today or tomorrow... I have to say I liked both characters that were turned in so far for the Halfling Expedition.

BTW, if the Citadel of Askar is as nasty as some of the Ayleid ruins that the picture is taken from... I don't wanna go! Not at first level.
