As a special treat for my gaming group, I would like to run some of the very first OD&D adventures. I haven't been able to find copies of these online for share or sale, and if they were to show up on eBay there's no way I'd be able to afford them (they're very rare).
So I'm going to settle for running home-made mock-ups in a similar style in theme and plot.
If anyone has any details regarding the contents of the original editions of the following modules (plot, maps, monsters, treasures and NPC names), please let me know! Palace of the Vampire Queen (1976) Dwarven Glory (1977)
I'd also be interested in a list of the changes (treasure, monsters, etc) made to the following modules between printings/editions. In Search of the Unknown (1978) I only have the copy that came out around the Moldvay/Cook era, so I'm not sure if there were differences between that one and the Holmes edition era printing. Quest for the Fazzlewood (1978) Was later included in an different form in O1. The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth (1975) Re-released and expanded in 1982.

I have B1 In Search of the Unknown that came from a Holmes Basic set that I just won on ebay. But I have nothing to compare it to, so I'm not sure if I can help you with that. It has the monochrome cover, but says it's copyright 1979, so I'm not sure if it's the original version.
If you have any specific questions, I'll be glad to look things up for you.
(I haven't even heard of most of the others!)

The 2 versions of B1 are very similar to each other, so even if you only have the later (brown cover) version you should be good to go. Some of the monster and pregen character stats are changed to conform to the 1981 rules, the rooms are re-numbered using arabic instead of roman numerals, and a couple paragraphs regarding using the module with AD&D and placing it in the World of Greyhawk are deleted. There might be a couple other similarly minor changes, but nothing significant AFAIK. The 1976 version of "The Lost Caverns of Tsojconth," however, is quite a bit different from the 1982 module version. The original version doesn't have any of the wilderness section from the module, and a lot of the encounters are different. None of the stuff from the 2nd booklet of the module appears in the 1976 version, except for Daoud's Wondrous Lanthorn. See grodog's always useful site for a detailed comparison of the two. I've never owned either version of "Quest for the Fazzle Wood" or module O1, so I can't speak to either of them.

Wow -- the map for Palace of the Vampire Queen is gorgeous. foster1941 -- thanks. Looks like grodog's site has many answers to the questions I ask here.
