The Iron Wind - copyright 1980; probably one of ICE's earliest products, the first in the "Loremaster" series. It is systemless campaign setting - a barren, cold, primitive region in the far north, where four different cultures held out against the 'Iron Wind', a mysterious (and rather vaguely-defined) force of evil. The booklet is 68 pages long, and about as old-school in feel as it comes - typeset in a 'cursive handwriting' typescript that looks like it was done on an IBM Selectric, hand-done "calligraphy" titles, and line art that is well...a couple of notches above the art in the LBBs. I picked up a copy about 1982, 1983 from a friend who was trying to run a discount game store out of her dad's garage, but have never used it in a game. Has anyone played this one? Did ICE go on to produce anything more in the series?

IIRC, The Iron Wind morphed into Shadow World, or, at the very least, the force known as the Iron Wind became the UnLife of Shadow World. I own The Iron Wind, but have never done more than glance through it I also have a ton of Shadow World stuff, which I've slogged through most of it, but frankly, the world, and it's timeline, are so crazy detailed that I couldn't even decide on a starting place or time. So I've just mined it for ideas and adventures from this and that publication.
