I just had to make a dungeon up on the fly. These templates are awesome for helping me compartmentalize. Sure, I have grandiose plans, but I only have to detail what is needed. This is great.

I've run into a big problem with the templates: I cant get a second page! The text just gets cut off at the bottom of the first page. It doesn't run on to a second as I'd expect, and I can't insert a second page. For me, that will be a blessing. It is a hard and unyielding message telling me, "Hey, you're being too wordy!" ;D

When I have Word handy, I'll give that a try.
When I inserted a new frame, it was on the same page and its size appeared to be limited thereby. Maybe I just need to play around with that some more. AppleWorks presented the same sort of situation, IIRC.
I can always import a map or blank grid into a document and just start typing away, and it follows that I could make up a form at least roughly similar to the templates.

Dwaynu - if you copy the frame, you have to make sure you Ctrl-Home so that the context of the paste operation is the document, not the frame you just copied. Word really p***es me off sometimes.
All - I can't tell you how cool it is to see the one page love. I'm working on cleaning up my Kobold Caves of Terror from WinterWar so I can release them. These keys worked great for Con play.

Yeah, another exalt from me, too, Amityvillemike. This is very good stuff you're producing! Keep up the good work.
I was also glad to see your Dungeon Alphabet in the first issue of Knockspell; I printed it out and keep it in my white box. That and the Old School Primer are all you really need to get someone motivated and prepared to explore some dungeons!

Wow! I'm blown away. This is a really nice way to handle dungeon generation in a sensible, manageable manner. Nice work!

Wow! I'm blown away. This is a really nice way to handle dungeon generation in a sensible, manageable manner. Nice work! Thanks, Tony. Yeah, that was kind of the idea I formulated based on Dwayanu's post here. To have a single page, grab M&M and a handful of dice and play some D&D. Amityville Mike and Chgowiz have taken the idea to new heights and helped spread the simple little notion. I've not been able to get much more done on my examples of late, but they are in the works.

Thanks for the exalts. I'm thankful that Sham's let me play with his idea and that Chgowiz provided a template for me to jam those ideas into. I've learned a lot and remembered even more since I started on Stonehell and couldn't have done it in the more voluminous manner I'd grown accustomed to.

I'm pleased that the DA has be received as well as it has been and has been enjoying some very good company of late. I'm hoping that it's not a one trick pony and that I might follow up on its success with something of equal quality in the future.

I've finally been able to get Orbitfiles to let me past the "server too busy" page and was able to download 2A, 2B, and 2C. More great work!

Thanks RandallS. Sorry about the problems with Orbitfiles. They've been rather dicey over the last month but they charge about all I can afford to pay for hosting at the moment: nada.
If found that if you just let the page sit open when the Server Busy message comes up, it usually reloads and allows you access to the files in about 10 seconds or so. Your own mileage may vary of course, but it might be worth a shot next time you encounter that problem.

I didn't mean to sound like it was your fault. I was just so overjoyed to finally be able to get them that I had to post. I've had similar problems using Rapidshare for my Microlite74 Special Edition download. I plan to try Mediafire when I release the 2.0 version. I usually have good luck downloading files there, so I figure they are worth a try.

I didn' take it as a criticism RandallS, so no worries. I just truly feel bad that people are running into the occasional problem getting the .pdfs and wish I could provide a better way to make them available. Something to work on for the future I suppose...

Something I've done is to set up a Google Site. I just upload my files as attachments to the main homepage and provide the link from there. I don't know if Orbitfiles gives you any other features, but for simple file hosting, Google Sites has everything I need.
I've also put some of my "polished" PDFs as freebies on lulu so they can be linked to the OSR banner. I've provided links to those PDFs on lulu.

Something I've done is to set up a Google Site. ::Duh:: Why didn't I think of that. My RetroRoleplaying.com domain is set up on Google Apps (for email). I can set up a huge number of Google Sites on Google Apps using subdomains. I'll set up a Microlite74 Google Apps subdomain to hold the PDFs. Mike, If you'd like I could set you up with stonehell.retroroleplaying.com as a Google Site and you could put them there. I'd invite you as a contributer so you could edit the site/upload new levels as you want, when you want.

I'm not certain if I want to lay my difficulties on anyone else. Part of me wants to keep as much of it "in house" as possible, but I might take you up on it.

The last of Level Two of Stonehell went live today. You can grab the Hobgoblin Redoubt at: www.orbitfiles.com/download/id3935465508.htmlI'm starting to stock Level Three tonight and let's just say that with the newbie levels behind me, I can start getting really unothordox from here on in. Level 3C looks like it's going to be a real corker.
