Robert St.John wrote a Star Trek game for Thousand Suns. There is a neat thread on it here.

Was this ever completed? I am looking to run a Thousand Suns old school Trek game and this looks right up my alley only when I load the pdf there are section headings that do not link anywhere such as the psionics and action sections. The stuff that I can seem to get looks really good and I have already started to use some of it.

I can check with Robert, but I think he moved on to other things. It is a sweet rules set.

I hope he actualy finished it off but it just does not load right or the like!
I ran a session last night making characters and running a mission out of LUG's Starfleet Academy box set and it seemed to go pretty well. Everyone likes the system mechanics thus far and it seems to do what we are looking for it to do. Not sure how the whole ship to ship combat part will work out (and I have not put stats to any ships yet) but the personal level stuff seems to work fine.
If people are interested I could show the stuff I have done thus far to stat out equipment and such.

No. I tried to contact him and have gotten no reply so far. Last I knew he had several projects he was juggling and was hoping to get back to the THOUSAND SUNS Star Trek rules, but I don't know if it ever happened. I'll try again.

Thanks for getting hold of him guys. It looks like there might be a bit of a wait for anything from him as he has just a little bit on his plate right now (understatement)!
Perhaps I will plink away at things as they come up in the game and actually write them down in some coherant fashion to add to the work done.

Hmmm... like four years after the last post on this topic, and I find it. I was musing today, while walking home from my morning excercise, that OD&D or clones might be perfect for Star Trek roleplaying. The loose rules franework allows for pretty much anything to happen. Command and security types could be fighting men, medical officers could be clerics with their "spells" as techno devices, likewise science personnel as magic users.
Since there aren't as many hard and fast rules as other games, it seems like it would be easier to do things like ship to ship combat, weird alien powers, godlike entities... it just seems a really good fit.
Any new thoughts on this?

Have you checked out the Old School Trek forum, punkrabbit? It’s not super active, anymore, but there are a lot of excellent thoughts on these subjects to be read there. There are several “D&D adapted for Star Trek” PDFs out there. Where No Man Has Gone Before 2.0 and Starships & Spacemen are my favorites, and among the most Trekkish and most OD&Dish.

Thank you, Falconer. I found the Old School Trek forums yesterday, but the other stuff is new :-)
