According to Jon P (see here), there's no writing to the SE of the eastern lake, just a squiggle (I think text bleedthru made me think it was writing). However, the dot is actually an asterisk, so it was presumably meant to mark something. Since stars on maps are often capitals, it could be the seat of the Great King mentioned in the accompanying article, but that's just a guess.
