I heard Dave Arneson was supposed to feature in a cameo in the first D&D film, but that this was cut in the final production (but may have been included in the bonus material of the DVD)? Does anyone have it?

He wasn't cut, you can see him in the group of wizards in the final battle. He just isn't very prominent. I'll post a screen cap, later.
Edit: my mistake. Apparently the scene was cut, I was recalling a deleted scene from the DVD. Here is a screenie, the first image is a complete screen capture, the second is just Dave with the rest of the scene edited out.
Sure, the semantics are correct. I was thinking more along the lines of it being a legal issue to specifically use the word "co-creator" when citing authorship of the Dungeons & Dragons Role-Playing game, though that may have applied only to TSR's publications (now that I think it through a bit more).
Sort of like when Avalon, the folks that make home craft kits (candle making and the like) threatened to sue anyone who referred to The Avalon Hill Game Company as "Avalon". Their threat had some effect, causing most folks to go a slightly simpler route of just saying "Avalon Hill" in print.
That scene was cut out? I could swear I remember it, where all the wizards stand there and shoot off some spell only to be killed instantly by the dragons. I'm not gonna' watch that movie again to make sure though!
