At the weekend I played OD&D with a DM who only uses the 3LBBs and the Solo Dungeon generator from SR#1, and was introduced to the idea of players bringing along sealed envelopes each containing a room's contents (to be used when a 'special' room is rolled on the generator). It was the price of admission to one of his games from the 70's onwards and he still has several unopened.
Does anyone else still use this method ?

That's a fascinating bit! First, jealous that you found someone to run OD&D and secondly with such a cool thing to do!

That's a GREAT idea...
I may just start using it---it dovetails with some other ideas I'm working on to shake up the dungeon concept.

Wow, that's pretty cool. I was just rereading the original dungeon generator article last week and wondered if people ever used that envelope method. Having the players bring them is a smart way to do it.
