17th day of Yovenoum in the year 998 of the Northern Calendar. Dawn. You can't tell how long you have been running. Your feet are swollen and hurt, yet you keep on. The wet and icy grass cuts into your flesh, into your toes.Blackmoor Bay. The Raider Road. Half a day's journey west from Blackmoor Town. You can see the cloud of black smoke from the castle through the morning's fog and rain. The whipped boy running down the shoreline before you, a bloody spot between the waves. The black sword, a weight in his hands that he almost cannot carry. Its blade, drawing a clean line into the shoreside's sand. blackmoor.mystara.us/forums/viewtopic.php?t=498The Last Fantasy Campaign, the little tribute game that has set it as its own ambitious goal to write a coherent epilogue to the Blackmoor campaign started by good Dave Arneson nearly forty years ago, has taken its heroes back in time and to the classic era of the very first dungeon adventures. Of course, it's just a PbP, and we probably won't stay in this First Fantasy Campaign era for too long, but I thought you grognards might enjoy reading through the ongoing game thread, since it contains some small Easter Eggs only those really acquainted with the old stuff might understand. PS: The game is currently full, but, in case someone is interested, we have a waiting list. PPS: Yeah, it's based on the d20 revival of Blackmoor, and so it's TETSNBN. PPPS: Yeah, that's THE Robilar making an unlikely cameo as Rizak's new skin. This is not only actually based on BM canon, but also intended to honor RJK, whose adventures I adore.

Wow, looks good to me.
i especially think that ranger sounds particularly heroic - I think you should give him some extra xp.

Kind of mean, advertising a game that is full and has a waiting list. :-P

Probably; now since it is the only thing that is somewhat newsworthy about Blackmoor (except Dan Bogg's excellent take on the FFC rules), I thought it might be worth a look for everyone still interested in the setting. Apart from that, if not for good Dan, there wasn't much to report. Setting-wise, BM is discontinued, all rights rest with WotC, and we shall not expect it to resurface any time soon, unless we see, say, a revamp of Temple of the Frog, or the like.
