This is just a brief bit of self-promotion to Southern California readers... I'm running a session of 1st edition Gamma World at Gamex 2010 in Los Angeles on May 30, 2-6pm.:
The Floating Castle of the Wasp Women!
After the apocalypse your village found peace and safety on a sky island floating far above the radiation-soaked world below. No time to relax, though, my mutated friends! Your village is under attack by wasp women seeking to purloin your precious gravitron matrix generator – the ancient device keeping your village afloat! Can you and your small band of mutant warriors fend off the wasps, rescue the gravitron, and save the sky island? This will be a fast-paced session of TSR’s classic 1978 game GAMMA WORLD!
It would be great to meet some other forum members! Let me know if any of you will be going to Gamex this year. Note also that there are going to be several old school Traveller and Tunnels and Trolls games at the con run by Robert Lionheart (aka spinachcat)... Should be a fun weekend!

That sounds like a really cool GW scenario. I'd be there if I hadn't moved from LA recently...and if I didn't have to go to my grandfather's 90th birthday celebration that weekend. At any rate, good luck. If it isn't any trouble, I'd be curious to read a write up of the adventure after you run it.

Awesome! Wish that Chicago was closer to LA...

Sounds like it was awesome fun. I've thought about doing mutations on cards as well, though it sounds like you put a lot more effort into it than I would have been able to.

Yeah - the cards were a little more work than I thought they were going to be. They turned out great, though.
I guess what I should do is use the Mutant Future mutation descriptions, then I could freely post the cards for anyone to use. I'm a little uneasy posting the verbatim first-edition GW cards because of potential copyright issues. I'd be happy to email you the files if you want to print out some of your own, though...

If it's no trouble I'd love to print out a set of my own. I'll PM my e-mail address to you.
Mutant Future cards would be cool as well.
