I was wondering if there was any plans to get Carcosa back in print? I am the proud owner of both the expunged, and Original edition (signed ) but it kind of saddens me to think that only the crafty amongst us will ever get new copies. Is there any plan for another print run or a Magcloud / lulu edition?

I didn't know it was ever for sale anywhere but through Geoffry. Has he sold out all of his copies?

Hello!
1. It's pretty easy for a person to make his own printed copy of CARCOSA. I include instructions with each PDF.
2. Unfortunately, problems with my home printer have prevented me from doing extensive PODs like I used to do. If someone strongly wants to buy a print copy from me, he can always email me and see if we can arrange something. A copy won't be as inexpensive as before (used to be $9), but everything is possible.

Below I've copy-and-pasted some instructions I had typed-up:
Supplement V—CARCOSA booklet format: This 47-page PDF is formatted to print-out as a 5 ½” by 8 ½” booklet. Please note that the page numbers printed on the bottoms of the pages intentionally skip from page 46 to page 51 (see the notes regarding the hex map below). To make a booklet, follow these steps:
1. Print page 1 on cardstock. 2. Print pages 2-24 on one side of blank paper. 3. Print pages 25-47 on the other side of the paper. 4. Fold, staple, and trim.
Supplement V—CARCOSA hex map: This 1-page PDF is the hand-drawn map of a small portion of the planet of Carcosa. The left-hand side of the map can serve as page 48 of your booklet, and the right-hand side of the map can serve as page 49 of your booklet. Pages 47 and 50 would be blank.

Sweet! Thanks Geoffrey. Once I figured out that my printer feeds weird everything worked out nicely.

Not at the moment. Carcosa is being re-tooled to be compatible with the Lamentations of the Flame Princess retro RPG, as I understand it, and will be released again soon.
I haven't actually played LotFP yet, but it's pretty old school and seems simple enough to convert to OD&D or other OOP games so if you plan on using Carcosa for one of those games instead you'll have to tweak it a little.

Here's the skinny on the re-publication of Carcosa in June:
I've added the introductory Fungoid Gardens of the Bone Sorcerer module to it, and encounter tables, plus I've added (courtesy of Christ Robert) 400 more points of interest in the map's 400 hexes. Instead of each hex having one point of interest listed (as in the original publication), each hex will have two points of interest listed. I've added a short note on mankind in Carcosa. The presentation (but not the stats or descriptions) of the monsters is now in a format similar to Holmes format rather than 1974 format. But have I actually changed anything? Let me think...
The armor classes were converted from OD&D armor classes to LotFP armor classes. The sorcerer's saving throw table was tweaked to better conform to LotFP.
Um...
If there's anything else that I've changed, I can't remember it offhand.
In short, the re-publication of Carcosa will:
* be hardback rather than softcover * have plenty of interior art (instead of none as was the case) * have a pretty map (instead of my plain one) * have twice as many hex encounters * have encounter tables * have an introductory module included * have alphabetized monsters
It's the same old Carcosa, but more of it. It's not watered-down, screwed-up, "revised", or anything like that.

Geoffrey,
I'm really looking forward to this one! Can you confirm that it will have all the ritual descriptions, etc. per the original version and not the "censored" version? Your remark that it won't be "watered-down" makes me think that everything will be in there, but I just wanted to clarify.

Looking forward to it! Any word yet on the approximate cost? We're trying to keep the final retail price below $40.

After the new version is released will the original OD&D booklet come back in print?

Geoffrey has an agreement with Mr. Raggi to stop selling the original Carcosa. But let me just say, I'd be willing to pay extra for a "collector's edition" Carcosa consisting of the new hardback and the old PDF. (wink wink, nudge nudge... say no more, say no more...)

I'll be passing on the new one. Maybe I can find someone wanting to sell their old one. Maybe.
I am just not even slightly interested in LotFP. *shrug*

All sales of LotFP books come with free PDFs. There are some organizational changes, lots of new stuff, but very little of the actual text that appears in first edition is being changed. Because Carcosa throws out most of the game's basic systems anyway, the only connection between the new Carcosa edition and the LotFP rules are the saving throw labels (which are all familiar) and AC (ascending, base 12).

Is this still coming out? On August the 2nd Raggi posted to his 'blog that ". . .Carcosa's next layout iteration is in the works. . . " Along with several other projects mentioned, he hopes to have them out "by the end of the year." Here is the link to the 'blog post, though I've quoted all the salient points here. lotfp.blogspot.com/2011/08/quick-update.html#links

I'm hoping for both Carcosa and Isle of the Unknown to be sent to the printer in September, which would mean a late September or October release. It just occurred to me that a release date of Oct. 8, 2011 would be cool since the original release of Carcosa was on Oct. 8, 2008.

Any chance on a package deal for the Grindhouse edition of the core rules and a print copy of the new Carcosa? I've been fighting the urge to buy the Grindhouse edition, but if there were a carcosa bundle the fight might go right outta me.

All decisions on pricing, promos, bundles, etc will be done after the book is off to the printer.

Any plans for supporting material yet, or is the plan to see what the take up of boxed stes is like?

I must say that I bought both the original and the Fungoid Gardens and haven't been disappointed. Kudos!

Any plans for supporting material yet, or is the plan to see what the take up of boxed stes is like? I apologize that I didn't see your question until today! As far as I know, there are no plans right now for further Carcosa products. If the Carcosa book sells well, and if James gets good Carcosa submissions, I bet he'd publish them.
