At one point Dan Nichols set up his Merchant Mafia, eventually controlling about half of Blackmoor Town's warehouses, while Mello and the Blue Rider teamed up trying to counter Nichol's Mafia.
Does anyone know anything more about this financial "war" in Blackmoor's history?
It would be interesting to know if Arneson used any sort of mechanics to determine the results of a financial battle...

I was aware that it was going on, but I was not a participant, so I don't know how it worked. BTW, the merchant was Dan Nicholson. Mello was played by Rick "Mel" Johnson and the Blue Rider was played by Bill Heaton.

(I guess alliances shifted anyway so..) Does Rug's (Trading) Station fit into this at all? Do you know which goods were traded (if ever specified?) Havard

The FFC specifies which warehouses are controlled by which side.
Could be fun to use the trading rules in the Darokin Gazetteer to run a little trade war like this...
