What about keeping the original version available with the old cover and all and just doing the new version with the new cover? I know that confusion wants to be avoided, but couldn't it be simply avoided by putting the version number in the listing description? I mean different editions of books are on Amazon and other sites and since this is all open game content and listed at a print on demand site, it seems silly to let older versions go "out of print" ever. POD lets it live so that the customer could purchase whatever version that they want.

Some of us have preferences. I don't believe that anyone was saying that the current cover was bad, but that some of us prefer the Pete Mullen cover. To me the Mullen cover has more of a 70's feel. Yep, this is my feeling. I've ordered the box set AND I'd like to have a copy of the Mullen cover as he is by far my fave "D&D" artist since Roslof/Dee/Willingham/Otus. I have the core rules, but this wil be my first foray into WB (though not the LBBs)., and I'm just upset (mildly, I assure you- no nerd rage here) that I'm not able to get the Mullen cover now (and stupid me for not ordering sooner before it was pulled!). Thats all. It doesn't mean I hate the "2E" cover or I'm dissing the the artist.
