The penanggalan is done. I need to get it scanned in, but that will have to wait for tomorrow, as it's late, and I have to go to my real and much more boring job in the morning!

The penanggalan image has been sent!
Since Jensen has done some rat cultist stuff, do you still want me to have a go?

Cal, I'm still hoping to get a few of random's traps to you but it won't be until late next week at the earliest. My apologies but work's been a killer for the last month.

I guess we're square for rat cultists, Kelvin, but if you see anything else you want to do please grab it. Ant, I'd love even just one trap pic, if you could get it next week especially. Do what you can - I'll check in with you when it gets towards 'now or never'. (And, if Coffee's reading this, still hoping for "education"!)

Still a couple of these not in progress I could use: - wizard casting a spell tearing the veil of reality open, or a spell which animates a statue, or inverting a dungeon, etc. (just one of these would be great) - trap pics (I know a couple people were looking at those, any developments?) - the postapocalyptic radiation storm (in a grim or humorous style, whatever floats your boat!) - a 'gaming' picture with ideas rising (in thought bubbles?) from dice that have come up with some result or other - whatever we wind up needing for JamesM's dungeon level (obviously can't respond to that without more details) Any help is deeply appreciated! Thanks!

I'll go for the wizard animating the statue. How big will this piece be, roughly? Half a page? A quarter?

Up to you - only needs a quarter but if the muse tells you to do more, follow her! Thanks again.

No problem! What I'm planning is something with a bit of narrative to it, a silent comic almost. I think I can fit it into a quarter page. You shall have it by Monday!

Is the dungeon level being referred to part of Darkness Beneath? I'd hate to see any section go without art.

Yes, it is. I kind of have a feeling James is up to something with it on his own art-wise, since he hasn't posted here or written me back when I've emailed him lately, but I'm not really sure. Lee, if you wanted to email him and offer your art services, if you have time and interest, feel free.

(And, if Coffee's reading this, still hoping for "education"!) I'm about 1/2 way done with it. I got sidetracked at a con this weekend, but tonight and tomorrow night should see me finished. (Hey, I've had something in every issue of Fight On! so far, and I certainly don't want to stop now!)

Cal, have any of the traps been selected for the mag yet? I'd rather draw a trap that featured in the article.

I just sent you an illustration for Random's Tricks and Traps - BJB's Circlet of Invulnerability. BJB is Big Jack Brass - that's the only trap I have illustrated at this point.

The sorcerer (now a sorceress) and the statue are done. I shall have a nice cup of tea, then I'll scan it and email it over.

Ah ok. So we're just picking any trap we like and then drawing it up. Very good.

It will take me a couple more days but if you can wait I've got the following traps covered: Evilly crafted magical doorway that jolts adventurers, large pit with teleporter in mid-air and the razorback.

On the razorback, if you can, make it a nod to the University of Arkansas logo.

Random, do you have an email address? I can shoot them through to you as well for a preview, if you like.

Thank you for the wonderful illustrations, sir. Those cracked me up! ;D ;D I would really love the article to be the best it can be, so I'm counting on Cal to edit it down to the most interesting and/or useful tricks and traps. That and artwork will make it quite nifty I think, although I still would love to see more submissions by others.
