Balrogs and Vampires in Blackmoor

In another thread, Finarvyn mentioned that some of the original Blackmoor players took on the roles of Balrogs and Vampires. I have heard the stories of sir Fang, but are there any stories of Balrog PCs?

How did Balrogs arrive in Blackmoor in the first place. Where they summoned by evil sorcerers? What of Vampires? Who turned Sir Fang into a Vampire?

I should do some research before asking questions. According to Greg Svenson's foreword to Dungeons of Castle Blackmoor, John Soukup played the Balrog.

I would still like to hear more about Blackmoor's Balrogs though and how David Fant's character became a Vampire...
