Gozer: "South guys? South looks good..."

"Sounds as good as any to me," Gimyip says, and starts treading the way into the southward passage, his eyes wary for any signs of tricks or traps along the floor that his lantern might illuminate.

Your party heads south. Gimyip detects no traps, but he gets the impression the stone work here is not as solid as that in the western half of the monastery. The corridor south ends in an intersection, a single corridor leads off to the east. ((dice roll) When you step into the intersection, Buiq looks around nervously. "Something's not right." Berist waves the group to a halt. He gestures for Gimyip and Gozer to cover the corridor to the east with pistol and rifle, and takes his remaining grenade off his belt.
Once his comrades are in position, if they signal all clear Berist points to his eyes and Bothess's and then goes to carefully search the indentation on the southern wall and the nearby floor and ceiling.

The southern wall, the nearby floor and ceiling all seem normal. Except ...
... where the southern wall meets the western wall doesn't seem quite right. Stepping back and carefully considering the room, it seems this room is not quite symmetrical as the other diamond shaped intersections have been. The west wall is either thicker than the rest of the room, or is offset about 6 inches or so.

"Maybe someone walled over an entrance?" wonders Gimyip aloud, as he keeps a careful watch on the corridor to the east.

"If so, would a laser burn through it?" answers Yashub-Yahad.

Mickeck, energy pistol trained on the north corridor (back the way you came), says "What are we going to do? I'll be happy to fire a blast through that wall if that is what you want."

Gozer: "Let's try to save our ammo."
[He taps on the wall gently with his hand axe, listening for a hollow sound and looking for a point of weakness to strike]

Gozer extends his weapon arm, small axe firmly in hand, to give the wall a firm blow with the business end of the axe.
There is no "tap".
In fact, there is no wall.
Gozer's hand passes through the seemingly solid stonework without a trace of resistance. Hurriedly, Gozer yanks his arm free, and is relieved to see his arm and axe are intact. He attempts to touch the wall again, yielding the same result.
"Well ... now don't that beat all?" Mickeck snickers.
Puzzled, Bothess says "I can't see pass that wall, even with my enhanced vision. To every test except touch, this wall appears solid."
"Something evil is close," says Buiq. "A brooding malevolence. We should leave this pace and never come back. Obregon will have to fend for himself!"
Casually, Bothess points her energy rifle at Buiq. "If you even hint you're thinking that again, I'll shoot you dead and piss on your remains."
Buiq scowls, but seeing as Bothess has the drop on him, says nothing.

Berist will crouch low and stick his head through the "wall", eager to learn more about this brooding evil but not wanting to present an obvious target.

Berist sticks his head through the west wall, and sees nothing. It is pitch black on the other side of the .... well, whatever it is the wall actually is (or isn't).
Does Berist wish to stick a torch through the wall?

Do we have any non-flammable light sources? Even a lantern would be preferable to sticking a naked flame into the unknown!
Did Berist hear or smell anything back there?

Mickeck has a flashlight. He offers to let Berist use it.
When Berist was on the other side of the wall, he could hear no movement, and besides a musty "old" smell, there was no peculiar odor.

"Thanks, Mickeck," Berist says. He sticks his head through the wall (crouching low as before), then holds the flashlight high and flicks it on for a second to get a quick impression of what is within.

Shining the flashlight into the darkness, Berist sees a 60" foot passageway with a low overhead (approx 7'). At the limit of the flashlight beam, it looks as if the corridor widens into a room. The light is glinting off some kind of reflective surface within the room but there isn't enough light to tell what it is.

Berist pulls his head back out and hands the flashlight back to Mickeck. "Looks empty t'me," he says. "If'n there's evil there I can't see it. Let's move in but stay on our toes."
He describes the reflective surface, and advises everyone not to look at it directly just in case.

Gozer, rifle at the ready and trailed by his comrades, inches along the wall. After about 70', Bothess whispers, "Stop!"
A torch flares, the bright light shocking after the pitch black of the tunnel. If front of you is a stone pedestal about 5' high, standing next to it is Bothess with lighted torch in hand. Sitting on the pedestal is what must be Harbinger's Lotus, an exquisite bit of sculpture in semi-precious jale-colored gemstone.
Bothess reaches out and take the artifact. "It's beautiful!" she says.
((I'm assuming Berist also accompanied the group? Tavis, if your PC did not enter the hidden room please let me know))

((Yes, Berist is there. Although perhaps it would have been wiser for him to make a show of being the first to stick his head in but then fade away - like you can get away with buying fewer rounds of drinks if you pick up the first!))
"Buiq, is this'n the evil you smelled?" Berist asks, indicating the sculpture.

"I don't know know," the Bone Man answers. "There is something ... not right about this place ..." He looks around, eyes rolling (which in a transparent man's head is quite an unnerving sight).
"We must leave this place," says Bothess. "We need to release Obregon's soul from its torment."

Gozer: "Not so fast. The bulk of our recompense for this expedition is the treasure we find. So far we haven't found a d**n thing. I say we do a little more exploring - there may be other baubles laying about this crypt that are just as precious as the Lotus.
"Anyone else with me on this?"

Bothess blushes, looking chastised. "Yes, of course milord." She says. "Let us explore further, who knows what treasure awaits us here?"

"Let's start in here," Berist says. "Usedta be a treasure chamber, right? Let's see if there's any more of those false walls."
He moves to the entrance and starts searching the walls moving clockwise from there, keeping one eye on Bothess.

At Berist's touch, his arm vanishes up to the elbow in an alcove on the far west wall. The wall looks completely solid in every way, it simply isn't there when Berist touches it.
Inside the alcove is a net-zooka (treat as a web spell, 120' indoor range, 10 shots), a silk bag with filled with assorted flawless gemstones, and a guided pistol (20 shots, fires heat-seeking projectiles that are treated like a magic missile) in a quick-draw shoulder harness.
There is one more object, it is rectangular and about the size of a large man's shoe. It is in a case that is made of something that is like-but-not-leather. There is a piece of gray glass on the top of the unit, and a button next to the glass. The thing weighs about two pounds.
"I agree with Gimyip," whispers Bothess. "If Obregon knew about the Lotus, then others will too. We should redouble our caution. I know there is more treasure here, the tales of this place told of much money coming in and little going out. If the party wishes to further seek the riches of the monastery, I will help."
